A recent thread had a question asking what was thought of an '05 with 44k. One person replied further on to another post in the thread that he though 20k on a two year old bike was high.
That got me to wondering what kind of mileage STers on this board were doing per year.

Edited to fix my crappy typing!

I just don't have the time to go much beyond 7-10,000 a year.

:03biker: :D :excited: I bought my bike Labor Day 2006 and just turned 3500 miles the other day. With nice spring and summer weather, no telling how many I will rack up in a year.

Okay,

I know I'm gonna skew the results, but I've got 67,200 miles in 3 "seasons" of riding so far...

27K last year and 2500 miles this year already (IBA meeting in JAX from Wisconsin)

Just wait until crazykz logs in.

I was right at the 15,000 mile club for the last 6 years or so...

I have put 1,600 on my BMW since I got it so,,, I have a shot at staying in the 15,000 mile club... :)

About 26,000 miles on the ST and 6,000 on the airhead. No commuting.

Why, yes, I do. But, we're talking MOTORYCYCLES here. What part of M-O-T-O-R-C-Y-C-L-E-S do you not understand!!!??? ;^)

I'm pushing a million miles after ~40 years. That averages to ~25K/yr. May higher, some lower, but now somewhere between 15/20K. I'll do ~7K in April, a couple thou in May, not much in June and July, then another 7K or so in August. Rest of the year is mostly local rides. I prolly got >2K so far this year so far, but will easily hit 20K before YE.

Only two years old and at 37,000+ so that's 18,500 miles/year. You need some higher scales.

Aw, c'mon Jeff, you're not that far into the max category.

George, on the other hand......

Just wish I had that kind of time to ride. My poor commuter....8<(

Some where between 20 and 30 k, I'd imagine. And 5 to10k or so on the KLR....

I don't know how many miles I have total. Between a half million and a light year, I'd guess:)

Sure... At least half my 6-7K annually is commuting.

But yeah, I lack the time to ride as much as I'd like. Every year I say I intend to fix that problem; this year will be no different.

Usually 10+ that i figure is pretty good considering my health. Been in the hospital 4 times since getting the 03... all during riding season. I ride when I can.

IBA riders and retired people should be put in another catagory. LOL!

I put on about 16k from 3.25.06 - 3.25.07. Just did not have the time or funding to ride more than that. Not to mention, I could not commute to work since I had to move equipment around my job (at the time).

My 05 has 42 000 kms since June 05 and I was off it with kidney stones for 5 week last summer...

Not bad for CDN bike that's not really ridden to far during Nov-April...

In 2007 I will make up for lost time... ;-)

Jon, until mid-2001, most of my annual miles were commute miles. I purposely moved farther out from work than necessary so I could get in the miles while commuting. Since "retirement" in July, 01 I can't commute anymore. The F-150 is the work truck of necessity. Can't haul enuff STuff on the ST. ;^)

My long rides (10 weeks worth last summer) are the only way to pile on the miles.

The secret to high life-time miles is consistency and a long life. ;^)

I thought the numbers would be pretty high but I had no idea there would be as many with as much.

That's where I screwed up. It's only 15 miles each way to work for me. I looked further inland a bit, but here on the coast, if you go inland, it gets both hotter and colder depending on the season.

Our house is about 6.5 miles from the water and doesn't have any cooling system. Heck, my office is only 2.75 miles from the coast....shame I don't have any windows.

What kills my riding is other obligations....
Working in the ANG, I also work 1 weekend each month.
Usually coach MSF 2 days per month.
Kids, wife......

Unfortunately, I also tend to let maintenance on the bike pile up, sometimes to the point of passing up rides because I'm overdue some task. Shame on me.

Yes I do!

That is why I have only 76,000 miles on my ST's in 3 1/2 years. If I didn't have to work, I could easily see that doubled!!!

This bike was meant to be ridden.:headbang:

Let's see, bought my first '06 new on 6/2/06 and crashed/totalled it on 7/25/06 (just under two months) and I put 3,700 miles on it. I bought my 2nd '06 on 10/9/06 with 2,700 miles on the odometer and as of yesterday (Sunday, 4/1/07) it has exactly 10,001 miles, so that's right at 7,300 on it + 3,700 = 11K on my two STs in 8 months of total ST ownership (removes a couple of months between STs. That mileage does not include several thousand miles I put on my Shadow Spirit 750 during the first 5 months of '06 before trading it in on the new ST.

And yes, I work full time from my home and none of those are commuter miles. And yes, I am married and own a home with all the attendant home-owner chores; in fact we are still in the process of moving into a new home in Florida with a long list of "honey-do's". That's slowed my riding somewhat, but I just "make" or rather "take" the time to ride. :D It's my passion, you see and I sure ain't gettin' any younger. I missed out on a lot of years of riding because of responsibilities for a wife and children, but hey, they are all grown up now, so I'm trying to make up for lost time.:) :) And maybe I should add that I'm doing it with a totally clear conscience.

Ride Safe!!

I've had a couple of good years and I've taken advantage of them by riding a lot. I'm right a 2.5 years with this bike and have a little over 93K on it. I stopped commuting with it last year because I moved too close to work so maybe I can make the bike last long enough to actually pay it off before something major breaks.

Indigo turned 3 last Saturday and she rolled over 67,000 miles. I fully expect to add another 20k before things slow down for the winter. Heck I ride 100 miles/ day just back and forth to work. Nice 2 lane twisties ;+}

I have been averaging between 25K and 30K per year across my fleet.

Most of my miles are commute miles, though I've managed several 1,500 - 2,000 mile trips since buying the bike in May of '05. At this point I'm averaging close to 30,000 miles/year. Sure beats commuting in the car!

I didn't vote as I bought the STeed Aug. 29th...only rode her for a month before she got put up for the winter...1804 miles on her. Got her back out march 26, 07 from then until Apr. 3 I put 1650 miles on her. she's back in the garage until this snow storm moves on...I'm figuring i'll do about 20-25K this yr...but I commute with it as well, 96 miles round trip.
