I don't know how to get the front wheel off (owner's manual is NO HELP!@#%$@&---Tool kit is NO HELP^*Y#$*#$^@%)... I've got everything loose except for the side that looks like a socket (instead of a bolt)... I don't have anything that will fit... How do you guys get it off??? I feel like an idiot... I knew I should have done this last night!!!!

If you leave all the pinch bolts tight, that should hold the axle in place and allow you to remove the main axle bolt. Once that's out, loosen the pinch bolts and slide the axle out.
(Don't forget to take the brake calipers off first.)

Huh??? It is the axle bolt that looks like a socket (instead of looking like a normal bolt)... I can't get it out.... :cus:

P.S. Here is a pic of exactly what I am trying to remove....

Look at the other side. It's a standard bolt. Remove that.

Once that's out, loosen the two pinch bolts on each fork, then use something to push the axle out from the bolt side. It wil slide right out.

If you look at the left side of the axle(from the seat) you will see two holes in the end of it. Take a Phillips screw driver and put it through both holes and wiggle it up and down as you pull outward on the axle. Support the wheel as the axle comes out with your left hand.

Be sure not to switch the collars (caps) that cover the bearings. The right side is slightly bigger than the left, but can be installed incorrectly, which will offset the wheel and cause brake problems.

One of the brake pads fell out (one end only - other end has a pin through it)... Not sure if I need to do a disassemble and reassemble or just poke the pad back in place...

Just poke it back into the keeper. It probably slid out sideways, so line it up with the keeper and slide it back in.
Hey Chipster...
Glad to know you're out there doing your own work...
I want to remind you that you are not doing anything we did not have to do... it
might have been years ago; but, we all learned the same way...
And we might have asked what seem like "really foolish" questions then as well.
Just remember not to pull on your brake handle while that wheel is out... if you do use a flat piece of WOOD to push the pads a part. I put a wood wedge in between the pads every time I pull a wheel.

Did you check Rob's article (http://www.**********.com/stf/showthread.php?t=100)on his forum?
