I should have just let the stealer install the CB and antenna... they changed the 06+ antenna hookup... I have to lift the tank to hook up the Sierra 2in1 deal

I need a break

Wasn't aware of that... doesn't make any sense to me..

Did you get your Zumo all hooked up so you can use your phone with it.. I think that's so cool...

They changed the size of the connector... it's smaller than the 05, so I have to replace that cable, it hooks up under the tank

I'm doing all of that this weekend... left my drill at work  Guess I'll borrow my neighbors

Sounds like fun... I'm dying to get a zumo, would eliminate the mp3 player and give me the xm option as well as allow me to catch some of the phone calls I miss while on the road... it's just a matter of time.. maybe I can score one of those open box deals.

That would be primo. I just got the cable to hook the Bluetooth/voice option up to the Icom... ~$115. The Kennedy deal was ~$250

Yeah, if you didn't want to use the zumo's mp3 then that works for just the phone and gps voice prompts. I think I have the singleset for the 2610.

Putting her together today... Godzilla put the screws in my dash  I had to cut slots in 2 of the buggers and use a screwdriver to get them out... had to wait and get dealer replacements :( Finishing up morning coffee now :)

PS

Dremel is your friend :bow1:

Cool... curious how it goes, I ordered a zumo... the peer pressure was too much.. was saving for a uni-go but I was a long way from getting enough so I just diverted to the zumo instead...

You've been Zumo'ed :D So... since you were wrestling with that decision... does that make you a Zumo Wrestler

Zumos... on bikes with built in nav systems? Lifting tanks... where have I been? lol. Hm, I thought you had a Goldwing Rob? Don't think there's any connectors under the tank lol.

I've had my top shelter off twice now... piece of cake. The only problem I had was I discovered those side trim pieces aren't so strong lol.

Yeah, on my '01 I snapped off those little 'tabs' but even with most of them broken the piece always stayed put... on my '05, either the plastic is stronger or I've learned the technique but I've yet to break one.

The connections for the antenna are under the hood/shelf/fuel/radio/filler/thing. The guy on the phone said tank  I pulled out the manual and saw where it actually was :)

Off to the garage for fun :D

Yep, well so far I only have one snapped and in fairness I must have had that off and on about 100 times so far to get under the left pocket. It still fits perfectly... but perhaps I need more safety chrome :D

Well... it places calls... it receives them... but I can't hear a dang thing :o: The CB works :) I guess I'll be debugging

I got mine last night and hooked everything up.. I already had some of what I needed for the aux-in setup so it wasn't as expensive as I was afraid it was going to be.

Took a long time to finally get my treo650 to pair with it and stay connected then I couldn't get the address book sync'd up .. then all of a sudden it was there... I know the Treo650 has a crappy bluetooth version as headsets just don't sound as good as with other phones.

got it all hooked up and back together last night and it works good - will need to keep the phone in the left fairing pocket because of it's crappy BT.

I loaded my mp3s on an sd card and that audio worked very well on it.. The unit takes a min or two to boot when you have an sd card in it.. still trying to research if that's the card or just the way it is because it's reading the card for some reason - indexing?

The screen is more square compared to my rectagular 2610 so that will take some getting used to but overall I like it. I like the way the mount works as well.

I think I need to upgrade the software on mine... I found a hit about the BT option. The upgrade came out on 3/14, I think mine came out before that :(
