Has anyone had conversations with the phoenix metro motorcycle cops about their transitions to the new st1300's?:policeST:
I know the Chandler police love them.
The Gilbert police (I think they're on them) like them too.
Someplace in the northwest (Glendale?) has them and they love them.
But, I didn't know the Phoenix police were going with them...

The people at the BMW dealer told me they were using FJRs and were still unhappy with the heat , on the 2006.
I can't imagine using them in that kinda heat , it's very stupid to put police on them .

Hi oldscout,
I was not aware Phoenix PD is transitioning to ST1300P's. I'm sure you wouldn't have asked this question unless it is fact. Is this a recent, as in past 30 days, development, and can you explain your question further? Thanks....
.
The last time I talked to Phoenix PD they were getting ST1300s and Harleys to replace the KZ100s. The 2007 Southwest Police Motorcycle Training and Competition is being held April 27&28 in Tucson at the Tucson Mall. It will provide a great opportunity to see who is riding what and what these bikes are capable of in competition. This is a link ( I hope) to their web site with the specifics. This event is certainly worth a visit.

That looks like it will be a pretty nice event.
Will you be attending?
And telling us how it went if you are?

I would be glad to join a ride down to tucson to see the police event if someone is interested..
I will be attending since I have some horses in the race. I'm not a picture taker but I will be happy to relay some facts after the fact. The organization should have a site up soon afterward with pictures. The best thing of course is to come to Tucson and watch in person. It is a lot of fun and seeing the various bikes reach and sometimes exceed their limits in enlightening.
Tony,
I don't think I can make it down.. I'll wait for your report and the website pictures...
Thanks,
Mark

I have MSF duties on Saturday but I'm going to try and make it over to watch the practice runs on Friday.
