Do you think the 2008 ST will have a suicide shifter?

I went to a Harley Only run what you brung drag race years ago. One guy had one of these mounted behind him. Stangest thing I ever saw.

I have one installed on my Ural, brings a certain retro look, not that 1940's technology needs it.

Might look a little out of place on the ST.

Tank mounted, fore and aft? Oh, yeah, baby! Will we be able to pump our own oil, too?

:bow1: I like your style!

OK, I had to look this one up..... this is from wiki:

"A poorly designed motorcycle will have the clutch and a clutchless shifter on the same side making shifting during operation extremely dangerous or even impossible."

Eek! Who ever thought that might be a good idea???!!!

Only if they run with the total loss oil system that the 29' HD JD's had.

Corect me if I am wrong (do I have to ask?), isn't a suicide shifter operated by hand and the clutch is operated by foot (like on a car)? If you put your foot down at a stop, you pop the clutch - throwing you out into traffic if at a stop, hence, suicide.
