Hello all ST11 owners ... this may be old to most of you, but new to me.

After owning my 2002 ST1100A for a few months, I found a few things 'wrong' with it. Mostly the wind noise above 70mph and some handlebar vibration.

The only mod so far has been a std Corbin seat ... I like Corbin's bucket and foam, and found it also lowered me 1-2" so now the wind noise is much less, handlebars better, and seat is better. Maybe I can leave as is, we'll see in the Spring when I put more miles on.

Q: were there any known problems with '01 and '02 models, as in the last few Gold Wing years when Honda was using up spare parts ? ... thanks for any and all info :-)

Not from what I have heard. They all seem to be rock solid. Check this link for "Real World Reliability of the ST1100".......http://www.my-mc.com/messages/1/46621.html?1102943639 Some pretty impressive accounts in that thread.

Horst,

I got a Laminar lip shield and lip combo over the summer and was the best money I have spent on her so far. My wife even remarked how much smoother is was at 80+ on the slab.

As far as the bar vibes do a really ggod carb sync and it should take care of it. The guys on the My-Mc board talked about keeping the revs really low to get a accurate sync and it seems to helps. Also check out a set of HVM (sorry lost the name) heavy bar end weights.

Check my webshots album in my sig for some pics of mods/parts. My favorite mods so far I have added to my ST are the Police/Euro switches and PIAA 910 lights.
