Since Finewest (Fred) owned the original threads for this event, and is seemingly MIA, I have requested Mellow to replace the posted Sticky with this info so I can edit it and keep it up to date with all pertinent information for the Event.

All other threads will remain active, this one will only replace the main sticky.

OK! It is official! The next California STOC group meet is...

CRESTOC!
Crestline Village, California
May 4th - 6th
Friday to Sunday

:03biker::04biker::biker::06biker::07biker:

:STOC:

Here is a quick link of the area: CRESTLINE VILLAGE, CA (http://www.crestlineinfo.com/locals.html)

All bikes, riders, and points West, East, North, and South WELCOME!

Dan (Dmulk) had the idea and it is grand! CrestlineVillage is in theSan Bernardino Mountainsand is a small lakeside (LakeGregory) village nestled in alpine pine groves at 4000ft elevation with lodging, restaurants, shops, bowling alley, campgrounds, and lots and lots of scenic twisty roads such as the Rim Of The World Highway! All this near LakeArrowheadand BigBearLake. Just a few short hours from most major Southern California cities. Dan also has a cabin there that he may be willing to offer some accommodations for the budget-minded (such as myself). I'll leave that up to him to offer more information. Dan also snagged a website space for the event, but it has not been filled yet. We'll let you know when it is ready and the web address.

This is going to be a STOC to remember! And right after Raven's successful DesertSToc you can be assured it will be organized properly. We'll be adding links, maps, directions, restaurants, lodging, campgrounds, rides, etc. information as time goes on.

So start planning and letting us know how many are interested in going so we can get a quick head count to make reservations in the area. Also post any ideas on what you guys would like to do in the area. I understand there is fishing at the lake with proper permits.

Here's my regular email address if you need it: dmulk@yahoo.com

Shameless... bump-biddy-bump-bump-bump!

My SO and her daughter just started purchasing some of the "non-perishables" for the BBQ. So please, if you are planning on attending, make it known to me now in the Crestoc "Attend" thread on the main page. See above to links.

Cheers all!

Please make sure you sign up at the link below with your attendance schedule. This is especially important if you intend on eating at the BBQ Saturday evening.

If you are not on this "list", then their might not be enough food for you and you will need to run to the store at the lake and buy your own. :)

I had a doctors appointment on Friday. Bad news all around for me. My broken ankle (at least the bones) have healed. The soft tissue around the ankle has not. No riding for me now for at least another month, if I am lucky. They found blood clots in my lower leg above the ankle and may postpone the surgery to remove the plates and screws. I have been told that while I may be able to ride and shift, stopping will present all sorts of problems for me. If I put my left foot down and the bike is moving AT ALL, I will drop it as the friction will cause great pain and I will have no interest in trying to hold up the bike when it does stop. I may remember to be completely stopped 99% of the time, but the one time will ruin it for me.

On another note, I was in Chaparral today. They have a 2007 ST1300 ABS and 2 FJRs. One is an AE model. I took great pain to explain the difference to my wife. Obviously she was not impressed as she walked over to the Reflex and other scooters, which see intmated might be a better fit for me (haha).

Enjoy the weekend, It should be great!

The wife and I will be heading up tomorrow morning sometime. We'll see you at the cabin Dan. We are ready to help if you need some stuff done, so don't be afraid to ask.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. The weather forecast looks to be cooperating, with sunny skies predicted for the entire weekend. Might have some gusty winds to deal with, but that's common in the mountains anyway.

I got up here a couple hours ago. It was COLD on the way up tonight....and I wore my perforated suit instead of my tourmaster....anyway....make sure you bring you liners. The only thing that saved me was my heated grips and (thankfully) I connected the heat on my corbin seat....

I'll see you in the morning! If everything looks good and ready, we could probably squeeze in the silverwood lake to HWY 2 for late lunch depending on when you guys get here.

Otherwise, we can all just get the grill hot and kick back...people should start arriving around 4-5 or so.

See you soon!

Please PM me your Cell # so I can call you if we are running late.

Fred,

It was wonderful hanging with you and Shari!

And....uh.... yeah... the "Cafe" that turned "Korean BBQ"? Kinda like that sushi place in the middle of nowhere.... :)

Anyway... Thanks for being troopers about it. I take full credit for screwing that one up...:o:

Cheers!

PS: Byron, nice save on this one!
