Here are two of the planned routes in Jpeg format.
I will be making some minor changes once I get a chance to ride them.

Chris,

Look like great routes. I'm familiar with parts of them. If you'd like a sidekick for the pre-event familiarity rides, let me know . . .

Great to hear from another ST'er in Napanee. I will definately let you know when I am going out for a ride.

Chris,

Thank you for posting the S&T files.

Could you please add Peterson Lake Road to Saturdays ride. I know S&T does not show it as complete, but it is I rode it several times last summer. Google Maps shows the road as it truly is. I have attached a link to it.

Thats the plan Pat but I wanted to ride it before adding it to the final route as I have never ridden up in that area before. Several Ontario ST'ers have commented that it is a great road as well.

Hi Chris. So I was able to convert the S&T file for the long route into a gpx file for my Garmin. I put the file into mapsource and was VERY surprised to see the route listed at 577 miles and 14,,yes 14 hours to complete. Is this a two day ride, or are you going for the full monty in one day. Potentially sore butts are curious to know!

No need to worry Bob as there will be shorter route options posted as soon as I can get out to pre-ride them. Sam and I are planning on riding 300 miles max on the Saturday as that is all our butts can handle in one day.

Sam and I did most of this route last Sunday and our butts were still there after we got home. The picture was taken on Peterson Rd as we had to stop to hear the loons. It was a great day for a ride.
The overall distance is a little off since S&T does not see Peterson Rd as a through route. The road from point 18 to 19 is actally there. True total distance is around 600KMS or 400 mi which can still be shortened more if desired.

For all you guys with those fancy guidance systems, here are the GPX files for the routes.
The county run is 175kms and the route1(Sat ride) is about 600kms. I still have to find breakfast and lunch locations and will update as soon as I can.
We checked out Peterson Rd a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic ride over to Haliburton and followed the route back to Napanee. Lots of sport bikes and one LEO but no other ST's spotted. We're going to change that right!18703

Chris,

Thanks for the GPX files. Several STOC'ers fromOttawa will likely be interested in the expedition. Can you post dates and more details. Some might want to join for part of the big run.

I also might be interested in doing the CountryRun. Is there recommended accomodation near the start?

You will find more details posted in the OnSTOC Lodging Thread. There are still some single beds available at the Lodge as well as camping options. I also have a couple of nearby motels recommended with contact info. The planned itinerary is on post#38 and the official start location is the Pickerel Park Lodge. It would be great to have some Ottawa riders attend. The Saturday route takes us up north of Kingston so we could also meet somewhere along the route prior to the lunch stop on Saturday if desired.

We checked out the County route yesterday and have revised the GPS file a little due to a detour.... final gpx file attached.
We will be checking the Sat long route in a week or so just in case there are any surprises.

We tested the Sat route today and made some small changes due to a bridge closure on Boulter Rd and some construction on Hwy7 and Marlbank rds. It is a full days ride (about 400mi) and gets you back to Pickerel Park around 5:30/6:00pm in time for supper.
Here is the final gpx file. Please note that Peterson Rd is part of the loop but unfortunately Mapsource still sees it as a dead end.

Chris,

Don't know if this helps or confuses, but I added waypoints 312 and 627 along Peterson. I think the GPS will then at least take you to the end of the road. When it tells you to turn around, ignore. Next, depending on your GPS, you might get a "off route, recalculate?" command, which you can also say No once you carry over to CR-10. I have attached this file as OnSTOC Sat Route2, if it is of value to you.

This is Janman's bro .....

Being the odd man out on my Bandit :04biker: I thought I'd bring something else different to this ride as I will be video taping parts of the ride on Saturday (I rigged up my helmet cam to my bars). I edit and produce "recreational movies" for fun and if the video and pics I take turn out, then I can put something together and share it on this sight after the tour if people are interested.

I am looking forward to the ride and meeting the "gang". You seem to be a good bunch of guys (any ladies attending?).

Cheers

Jeff

Just a last minute reminder to everyone staying at the lodge... Please remember to pack bedding, pillow and a towel.
Check in time is anytime after 3PM on Friday and we are planning to have the BBQ around 6PM.
The beer store in Napanee is open till 9PM Fri and Sat and the LCBO is open until 8PM Fri but closes early on Sat at 6PM. Everyone we talked to had no problem accepting American cash but at par. We will be doing a run into town on Friday evening to pick up any additional anesthesia if required.
Environment Canada is forecasting cooler temps for Fri, Sat and Sun in the low 70's if you can believe it so it will be a great weekend to ride.
See you all on Friday.

Thanks Ray, it may help some.
We tested the route and the Garmin got a little screwed up and I think I p...d off the Garmin Girl cause she kept telling me to make a U-Turn and then she went quiet for long time until we got onto the Loop rd then it was all OK.
See you in a couple of days.

Had hoped to meet the gang on the home stretch around Bird's Creek. Figured the Saturday a.m outta here in Midhurst, hook up for some fun and back home. That was all well and good til I rounded 2nd for 3rd last night and blew out my Achilles. Fun?....Wow! brickabracka. Hope there's a repeat for '08.

Mac-STer..

Its all good man. Was a nice weekend weather wise down here. Haven't had a good long ride on the bike since Jersey. Its all been cummuting and running around fetching paint cans and other stuff..
I guess thats what moving does to you..

Its calming down now.
