After about one hour with my helmet on (Scorpion) my right ear starts to feel a little pressure on it. Doesn't matter if I wear plugs or not. I do wear sunglasses. The ear only hurts when I take the helmet off, then I can't hardly touch it! ***** is going on? Next ride I'll take the foam out...it might be applying just a little too much pressure...the helmet fits perfect.

Hi Rob,

Don't know if your situation was the same as mine but I went from an Arai helmet to a Nolan. My sunglasses hurt my ears with the Arai but didn't with the Nolan. Could it be the glasses cutting off circulation and then hurting when it's restored?

What I have done in the past is to try and locally compress the EPS material around the offending area.

After reading through some of the threads on sunglasses here, I might try some sunglasses with straight blades...and compressing the foam...thanks guys.

+1 for sure. My Arai had the same problem on one side, used the bottom of a spoon to do the above and yup, better for sure.

Another thing I found out recently when looking to install helmet speakers, there was alot of ear pad foam right where the speaker would go, so I cut it away and found a perfect indentation for where a speaker would be glued to.

I decided against the helmet speakers but the above and cutting away this ear pad foam and now the helmet is great.

good luck with yours,
