ST1300: Any progress anywhere on highway pegs? The bar under the tipover wing is such an obvious place for them. Kinda surprised no one has actually come out with them as yet -- as far as I know.

I've seen only one link to them so far but lost it. I'm with you on this. If anyone has any information on them please help us out with a link.

Thanks,
Curt

Not very hard to make your own, a nice little winter project if you live in the snow belt. The pictures show the size of the pieces, the clamp is a standard ground wire clamp from the hardware store and the pegs are aftermarket pegs for a mini-bike. The clamp needs to be drilled and tapped for the peg to screw into. A small hole needs to be cut into the rollover bar cover using a razor knife. Install the clamp on the rollover bar, reinstall the cover, then screw the peg into the clamp.

Hi, here's the site for highway pegs for the ST 1100. They may work on an ST 1300. I haven't installed them on my bike, so if you go for it, I would be interested in your impression.

If you want to stretch out your legs check out the very neat design this fellow st13 rider came up with at:

http://groups.msn.com/st1300us/general.msnw?action=get_message&mview=0&ID_Message=54339&LastModified=4675507799718974777

They should work good on my 5000+ mi. AK ride this July!

These are the pegs I have been looking for does anyone have the info to contact the guy who made them. I am very interested in these. And am ready to buy. I saw them once and lost the link. I am very happy to see that others are also interested. These appear to be the best design I have seen and don't look like add on highway pegs from JC Whitney.

The footpeg lowering kit from Larry does a good job extending your legs, in case that's a viable option for you in the meantime ...

Same here, I took advantage of his recent Memorial Day sale. I didn't think they were going to work for me but they do a great job.

Now, I need to get me some wings haha.

What I don't like on the 'forward mount' bars is that they are BELOW the tipover wings and thus, closer to the ground and may impede my carving the twisties. The other thing is they MAY not retract if they do hit the ground in the twisties, or if you drop the bike, possibly bending them.

What I DO like about it is they aren't as noticable as mine. I mounted mine on top, spent less than $50.00 to do it.

Although skeptical at first, I got these: http://hometown.aol.com/lrbuck/honda-st1300-pegs.html

#1- I do NOT like any peg that sits below the engine guard for the reasons already mentioned.

#2- I use the pegs in 2 ways, with my boot, and then a 3rd riding position is accomplished by laying the leg over the peg (full-out "Lazy-Boy" position :D ). can't do that with the Highway Wings. Plus, the Highway Wings are still to close to me. My 34" inseam needs more room, and these give it to me.

I was going to get a set of Turbo City's pegs, as they look the best (OEM-style), but they reduce ground clearance too, same as the STeed Sticks.

So far, I am very happy with Buck's pegs. Form has to follow function IMHO.
