I don't know if this is a repeat or not, but here goes...
The gang and I saw one of these on the road at the Crestoc lunch yesterday. Sure turned heads!

Oh Yeah! A HD co-worker has pics of these bikes above his desk. Can you imagine a 350 cubic inch motor in a bike. I'm sure my ST would get lost in it's rear view mirror.:headbang:

They had a pair of these on display at the NASCAR short track in Tucson in the mid/late 90s. Idling leaned over on the side stand, it would nearly stand up straight from engine torque with a slight blip of the throttle.

8.5 gallon tank, 20 mpg....
1,100lbs dry weight.
I'd bet the ST could easily lose them in the twisties.

A few years back a guy came into the parts department at the dealership I work at with one of these. It had a Corvette engine.....funny buying parts for your "bike" at a GM dealership. He was your typical "biker"; fat, chaps, no helmet. The bike gathered quite a crowd, I even went over to take a peek myself. I left laughing when he started telling everyone how it would easily do 200 MPH.
Intersting bikes though. I hear they are actually pretty easy to ride once you get past walking speed.

Lots of them in FL with our long straight roads.
Seen them with 500+ CI engines, tires so wide they don't need a sidestand.
1/2 track burnouts at the dragstrip.
Interesting when they gather in herds of a dozen or so rumbling along I-95 or down A1A.
But.......a motorcycle to ME, is a balance of go, stop, and turn.
Only having the go part would be fun for an afternoon, but I would have taken the Rocket III home after the test ride if that was what I was looking for.
Fun to watch the onlookers when a lady rider shows up on a big block Hoss though.

A guy down the street has one in yellow and I often wonder as he puts by what the ride would be like and what's the point?
It's loud, large, looks uncomfortable and somehow I doubt all that safe or manuverable.
Maybe I'll use the dog as cover and walk down to ask him about it and let you know his comments. I'm not sure what house he is but he's close because I hear it eveythime he fires it up and goes for a ride...

While setting still you do not blip the throttle or you will be on your side. But, once underway its kind of amazing they dont have any torque steer. At a prior job I had an insurance claim where one of these with a 502ci had just been painted and put back together. The owner backed it out of the shop and started power braking it, the throttle stuck and off he went with no helmet. He was severly brain damaged and the bike was a total loss.

There's a whole bunch of them here in Daytona -- a few with nitrous bottles (I don't know if the nitrous is for the bike or the rider). They really don't seem particularly fast and they corner much like an aircraft carrier. But they will burn all the rubber off the rear tire in one start. And they are noisy. NASCAR noisy.
Then there is the issue of trying to get one stopped -- quickly. God help you if the light turns yellow while you're approaching at 55 mph.
I really don't get the point, but, to each his own. It has two wheels (except the Trike version which is a whole 'nother story).
Oh, yeah, they cost about the same as four STs. Really neat.

A few of us at NatSToc rode the ferry across Bull Shoals last year with a Boss Hoss on board. The guy riding it and his buddies all quaffed a few brewskies while waiting for the ferry to dock. Needless to say we booked when the ramp went down on the other side.

A couple interesting videos of the Hoss doing it's (only) thing.

My favorite is the stock ZX-12R dragrace with a 502 Hoss :hat1:
