Take your VIN to a dealer and they can look it up for ya :)

Have a look here (http://stwiki.notonthe.net/twiki/bin/view/ST13/ModelYearChanges) for recalls by year. PDFs with instructions are attached to the two for your '04 and will show where the punch marks go on the VIN label for each one.

2007...Better seal between the saddle and the tank (unconfirmed)
i can confirm that that is not true. picked up my 07 this past saturday and the fit/finish between the tank and the sides of the seat is way off. it's the first thing i noticed when i picked up the bike. i thought they didn't put the seat on correctly. surprising. the fit/finish on everything else is great.

You sure it's not just a function of where you have the adjuster set? On mine, the seat looks great in one position but a little out-of-place in the other two.

when i picked up the bike, the seat was on its lowest setting. yesterday i set it to the middle position. i haven't tried the upper position yet. seems the higher it goes, the less likely the plastic groove on each side will line up with the notch-thingy-ma-jig. i'll take a look at it this evening.
The seat on my '07 is the same. It has two loose "flaps" in the front, strange.

Had an uncomfortable couple of hundred kilometer on my new 07. Also noted that the front part of the seat just didn't seem to fit correctly to the tank. A closer look showed the front was set to the lowest position but the back was positioned in the middle slot. It took a bit of an off center push to get the back positioned into the lowest slot. Improved the comfort and the appearance.
