toe sliders on boots

so toe sliders on boots...anyone know of anyone who can put sliders on boots? i like my touring boots now, they have some of the hard protection in the right places, but they aren't as rigid as the sport boots are, plus i don't need to have the bazillion straps that most sport boots have...

however having said that, this is the 2nd pair of boots of the same ones now that i've bought and i'm near wearing thru the toes since i keep leaning the bike over deep and dragging my pegs/toes around corners...i like the boots and just wish they had toe sliders on them... or anyone know of boots that aren't overly funkified that have toe sliders...seems to be dificult to find...i guess they don't expect guys with touring boots to be dragging there boots/toes/pegs everywhere...

i tried bumping up the rear preload, doesn't make a dif, still dragging, i tried to get off the seat, i can and sometimes it doeswork but its not really comfortable hanging a cheek off the seat on the ST...

I've got 40k on the bike now, I don't want to keep buying new boots every 20k...that'd get expensive...

opinions/comments?

A couple of folks will tell you to adjust your posture so you lean more off the seat, and lean less the bike.

Which makes sense, since that way you have more tire gripping, and more suspension movement.

For the boot, maybe you can just get some metal bits, and tack them into the boot?

Are you dragging your toes with your feet planted with the balls of your feet on the peg?

What about having a shoe repair shop add some taps to the the toes?

buck, i can get off the seat, i think i mentioned that above, its not exactly the most comfy position but yeah i can do it...but i have found that given the right corners for that situation i seem to naturally go even faster, LOL...which of course requires more lean angle thus putting me back where i was before...tho i'm sure gven the right corner i'd start to need knee pucks if I start to hang off that much...

bryon yes, the feet are in the correct place...i can get them to touch down even moving around a parking lot ... surprised the heck out of me...

I have the Alpinestars SMX-4 boots. They aren't a full sport boots, but a bit more than a touring shoe. They have the removablereplaceable toe sliders. They are very comfortable and work well in the cold and heat. I ride all year long and love the boots. And yes, I can get the toe sliders to touch if I'm riding aggressive. Scared the daylights out of me the first time.

These Alpinestars are the most "subdued" pair of slider equiped boots I could find.

They where on my short list before I decided on a pair of Oxtar Infinity's for more walking comfort.

Back in the old days, flat track racers here in CA used a steel 'shoe' which fit over the boot and allowed them to slide thru the turns while oversteering the whole time.

Maybe this idea would work for you. They strap on, and are replaceable.

I have the same problem. Like you I drag my toes in the corners at pretty much any speed that I take them 5-55mph. I really need to get some boots as I have been riding with my work shoes this year. Like you I have been wearing them out. I just picked up a new set of work shoes that I will leave in the office so that I can wear boots to/from work and have something to change into. I'll be watching this for some ideas.

A less expensive option than the AlpineStars is the Setup Vision boot (designed by Sidi). I tried these on the other day and was surprised by the level of protection and comfort. They feel more substantial than more expensive boots, such as the Gaerne ST but could be worn all day.

Is it possible your fork springs need to be switched out? I don't know much about suspension.. .I know the wing guys say the OEM fork springs are ready to be replaced by 24,000 miles but I'm not sure I agree with that...

Anyway, it's possible you need some stiffer fork springs as you're getting some sag in the front and the whole bike is diving more than it needs to? Just an option... there are others here with more knowledge of these things.
