Gang,

I have a 50CC starting June 16th and I'm starting in San Diego really Ocean Beach, CA. then of course heading for Jacksonville, FL. If someone could help answer questions below that would be great.

1. What's a decent hotel around Ocean Beach, CA that is resonable to spend one night?

2. I'm planning to do an oil change after the ride when I get to Jacksonville, FL can someone recommend a dealer or a location I can change my oil?

3. I'm also looking for a hotel once I get to Jacksonville, FL. resonable? I should arrive on the 18th and leave the morning of the 20th.

Thanks everyone in advance.

2. The nearest dealer is Jacksonville Powersports, a Kawi/Victory dealer. You will see it on Atlantic about 7 miles before the ocean. There phone number is (904) 641-5320 if you want to call ahead. Honda of Jacksonville is about 4 miles before the Kawi shop on Atlantic and their number is (904) 721-2453.

3. I guess you'll be ending in Atlantic Beach. If you do, the Days Inn (listed as Neptune Beach) starts around $60 per night and is about 4 blocks from the ocean

I've done a 50CC and a 100CCC in the past. It has been awhile so can't recommend hotels. You know you can also take I 20 out of Van Horn and finish up at Tybee Island just out of Savannah. I did my 50CC going east to west from Tybee since I much prefer I 20 than I 10. It is about the same distance. Why change the oil? It is only about 2400 mi. and you could change after riding back home if you change before leaving. Lots of LD riders do 5000-7000 mi. or more before changing oil. It is easier on the bike doing the prolonged highway riding than all the hot stop and go riding. Good luck and safe riding. Make sure you time the bigger cities not at rush hour, LOL. And watch those forest rats in the Texas hill country.

+1 on the oil change. The manual on the Wing says 8000 mies between and I think the ST says 5K.

I was thinking I would be at 3.5k miles by the time I stopped in Jacksonville since last oil change and well over 5k before I got home.

I also like the idea of I-20 over I-10 and ending at Tybee Island. I have been there on a vacation and I like the area. Looks like it is about 50 miles more by my map quest.

Gang,

I'm going with the route to Tybee Island, GA from San Diego. Thanks for all the help, does anyone know a reasonable hotel in Tybee area and a place I can get my end of trip certification.

Thanks

Gang,

I'm done what a ride. A lot harder than I thought it would be. Completed ride in 45 hours (stopped in Dallas for a couple of hours due to thunder and lighting)

I'm in a little town called Woodstock, GA right now on my way to the Dragon's tail to meet up with my brother.

Thanks to everyone that reply with info.

Sould be home in NM on the 30th. Have fun and ride safe

Please let me be the first to say congrats. I did a SS 1000 on June 9 and am now planning a BBG. Thanks for giving me something to work up to.

Way to Go!!!
