I bought a pair of new JR 5.0 pants about a month ago. When I got them they seemed like pretty good pants and were comfortable. However, after wearing them for awhile I am not all that impressed. Yesterday I was riding in some really heavy rain and the the crotch of my pants got soaked. This morning I went to go to the gym and after I got home I noticed that the built in belt was letting go on one side. Not impressed at all.
Now I am thinking of getting a roadcrafter or Darien.

Spend the extra bucks and buy the better riding gear.
I purchased a JR Meteor jacket and returned it after 2 days of riding. The elastics that cinch the elbow protector to your elbows had stretched and not returned to its original length.
Sent it to JR repair facility (2 hours from me) and waited for 2 months. JR could not give me any answers when I called.
Fortunately, my m/c shop stood behind me and gave me a full refund on the JR jacket.
I ordered a Belstaff Discovery jacket and Belstaff Pioneer pants and couldn't be happier.
Belstaff cost twice the price of JR but performs 10 X's better.
Better protection and completely waterproof.
You get what you pay for.
