I have owned and used both the Held Profi and the Helimot H20. The Profi did exactly what it was supposed to do during a high speed (60 mph) crash that sent me skidding down the road for 100 ft. I have not had a chance to crash test the Helimot, but the construction is very similar.

Both are extremely high quality gloves. Both do a fantastic job in temps ranging from 40s to 80s. When the temp gets far above 90, the Held were more comfortable, because they were a little bit thinner (with only one layer protecting the palm). I felt that the Helimot gloves were more comfortable when the temp went into the 30s, but I preferred to use a thinsulate-layered glove when things got really cold.

The Held gloves broke in a bit easier, but both are fantastic and very comfortable friends.

Either makes a great choice. Also look at Kushi tani's (funny, the porn filter put asterisks in the middle of that company name) GPR series of gloves. Same price range, same very high quality.

I have Held Steves, which, in my humble opinion, are the closest to the helimot h-20's. I can't remember about the Helimots, but one of the beautiful things about the Steves is the fine sizing...numbers, not just small, med, large. Measure carefully and you have a chance to get the best fit in your life.

On the other hand, you can call Helimot and ask about sizes...they can talk you into a pair.

I tried the Helimot H20s, and returned them. They are actually very nice, very high quality materials, and very well made. Sizing seems a little bit tight, but maybe that's just me.

So why did I return them. Helimot puts a seam right across the middle of the inside of the thumb. It's right where my thumb wraps around the grip. I found it annoying as all get out.

Were it not for that stupid piece of design work, I'd likely be using them today. Instead, I'm using a pair of Held Steves. The Helimots felt more expensive, but the Steve's are also very nice, and no seams in stupid places.

That's good to know, Bob, thanks. I'll never understand why ANY glove manufacturer puts seams inside the glove. It's so much more comfortable when the seams are outside....
