Hello all ... just bought one of these as I needed a 2nd helmet and the price and quality seemed very good. I've heard 'plastic' helmets are noisier than 'fibreglass' ... does anyone have direct experience with this one (they seem to sell lots).

My regular helmet is a SHOEI ZR (?) ... thanks. :)

My wife likes her CL-14. I have a CL-12 Fusion that is a great helmet but it kills my neck & back.
I just bought a Shoei X-11 in hopes that it's a little lighter. Getting old sucks.

I have the CL-14 in Yellow. I haven't had any problems with this helmet at all. I had an AC-10 prior to this and that helmet, both large, fit a little tighter and took a while to adjust to my fat head. The CL-14 fit much better from the moment I put it on.

Now, that being said, I tried on a Shoei - RF1000 when I was at the dealer back in December and it fit me perfectly... That might be my next helmet, if it weren't for the price. For the moment, the CL-14 is a great helmet and I will hold on to it.

I've always had HJC helmets so I'm sorry I don't have any comparisons for you with regards to other brands. The only thing I can say is be sure and try one on first as the sizes between the AC-10 and CL-14 were a little off, at least in my case.

Great, that's the kind of info I was looking for. You're right about the fit, other than being a bit tight at first, the HJC fits very nicely. Now my SHOEI is an older low-end model but I like it ... it seems most people have either an ARAI head or a SHOEI head. Both those are :money1: :money1:

Buy the CL-14 Graphic model! Cool colors and yor wife can ride behind you and stare at a shadowy figure of a busty nude babe on the back of your helmet!

Really... which one did you get and can you state the price?

I have the Nolan and the Symax and both are good. I like the Nolan and that helmet got better testing results. Also, the Symax leaks like a sieve in the rain.

I went with the Nolan and like it. I intended to get the HJC Symax but I was able to pull it off my head even with the strap on. Definitely want a helmet that stays on.

Mellow -- I got the silver Shoei RF-1000 from Kim, for about $255.00. That's from memory, so may be a bit off.

I just called CA Sport Touring and they can no longer either give price quotes nor sell Arai or Shoei helmets online or over the phone. Have to visit the store in-person. Not easy for a guy from Chicago!
