View Full Version : Knee/Tank Pad Set?
I bought an 04 ST four months ago...never got tank pads for the knees with the bike...was I supposed to? I thought they came standard.
My intent was to eventually go back to dealer and get it straightened out, but was talking to my dealer today (recall) and he said that these pads did not come with the bike. Am I wrong?
Thanks in advance,

I went down that road with my dealer and it was a long road indeed. Long story short is yes you should have got the ones that stick on the side of the tank with your bike. They are the triangle shaped ones. My dealer eventually came up with them for free.

Yup, they are supposed to be included with the bike. You have the option to install them or not. They didn't come with my '04, and when I queried my dealer, he jumped right on it and they were provided for free. They are the triangular shaped rubber or neoprene pads that go on the tank itself. :clap2:

Brian:
Several guys reported that the pads were found in the darkest recess of their saddlebag. You may wish to check carefully as that may be how Honda ships them. The dealers may or may not bother to look for them. Honda dealer prep can be spotty.
Thanks guys.
Consensus seems to be that they should have been there. My dealer has been great to deal with so far, hate to end our relationship over a couple pieces of foam. However, since I don't get a reverse gear or power outlet, I guess I will pursue these items until I get em.
I may have some 'leverage' when I take the beaST in to have the recall handled!!
Thanks again.

I road the bike for about a month with out them and crazy as it sounds couldn't believe the difference with them on. No more sliding forwards.

I like the look of them, but have not mounted mine yet. Don't think i'm gonna but do like their look very much. The reason being is that even if it may be a small amount, i don't want my legs splayed any wider than what they already are on the ST. But, like Kennedy says, i could imagine them helping you from sliding forward. Has anyone attached and then later, after being baked on, tried to remove them yet? What process did you use?

Its called Oxford Sports. I chose it because it was one of the smallest ones I could find. Has quite a few pockets and a clear map holder that snaps on the top when needed. Holds enough for me.
