I called Honda Cust Service today (866-784-1870) and stated, "my bike has been in the shop for a month waiting on recall parts."

They said there was a very small inventory and until a larger inventory (5,000+) could be assembled, they weren't going out to the dealers. But they felt it would be completed shortly. Basically the smaller inventory, less than 200, would be used in extreme cases. However, since mine was disassembled and sitting there, they were able to expedite a harness ASAP. The dealer could not do this, it had to be a customer type call, at least that's the impression I got.

So, if you bike is sitting at a dealer disassembled and waiting on parts... Call Honda... they were very nice and I feel they addressed my concerns. They knew nothing of the thermostat issues but were aware of the heat the bike puts off during summer riding months.

The saga continues and hopefully, I'll get my bike back soon.....

Mine's NOT going in until the dealer calls me and says "I am holding the parts in my hand".

Joe, you said they are sending the dealer a harness for your bike. Did yours get to that point where they saw heat damage? You would be the first I have heard about.

The dealer didn't mention it and the Honda Cust Service guy said they hadn't seen any yet.

That's right, the squeeky wheel gets the grease.

My local dealer had an ST1300 in for service a couple weeks ago. They called American Honda and told them they needed the recall parts because the customer's bike is in pieces and they want to get it back to him.

I took mine apart myself and took pictures to the dealer so he could order the correct parts. The dealer was told no parts would be available until the end of the month at the earliest. The dealer told them my bike was apart and the customer is also upset about still not receiving title (dirt bike VIN issue). The sent the parts right out.

My ST is back in one piece with the updated parts.

Yeah... I wish I would have called two weeks ago... oh well, at least the bike won't be stuck in the shop for another month...
