Well both the horn and wire harness shipped yesterday from CA sport touring and Eastern Beaver....wondering if I will have them in time for a weekend project. :)
I'll use the instructions Fred has on his previous post and see how I do. Shouldnt be too hard, I have removed the tupperware once to install a powerlet on the right side and it wasnt too bad. I usally do this stuff in stages after work..one night take off the tupperware..next the wiring, then zip it back up.
Sure hope it's nice and loud...I cant tell you how many times people on cell phones, reading e mail etc while they are driving have begun to drift into my driving lane. Hopefully the Stebel will wake them :22yikes:
Let me know how your install goes Fred!

Good for u Ken. The stebel is quite loud, and not easy to be subtle with.
I believe it, along with headlight (and brakelight) modulators to be the first farkles that should be done on a bike.
yer gonna like it alot :) well worth the trouble!

The Stebel is a good choice. It was doing duty clearing dear from the road in Arkansas for me last week. :)
It works just fine at waking up clueless wonder drivers.

I did the dual honr "Blaster" from Auto Zone last week on STick. ReSTored has a similar arrangement inherited from Adam K. Both sound like 58 Buick (not air horns but _loud!_
Good farkles can save yur life!

Ken, all I can say about the Stebel is that after installing it I was on I 24 SE of Nashville and an 18 wheeler, who apparently didn't see me hit his blinker and started moving into my lane as I was coming up to pass. I laid on the Stebel and he immediately canceled his blinker and moved back into his lane. Now I noticed the driver's side window was partly open but there was no doubt he heard it loud and clear. As someone else said it is hard to be subtle with this horn but you will find that a couple or 3 quick blips will get peoples attention and not make them mad, as if you really laid it on!:biker:

I had to use my Stebel in the same situation on a guy towing a big fifth wheel RV trailer, on I-5 just south of Salem. He got the message right quick. The horn actually creates pain in enclosed spaces. I love it.

If you mean me Ken, then I sure will let you and the guys know how the horn install went. I'm going to be doing it this Sunday with a little help from my friends. LOL.

Yes Fred...let me know how it goes..
Pix are always helpful if you have a digital camera....
My horn arrived today...hopefully the harness will get here tomorrow..Dont think I will get it installed this weekend though.
I guess we dont use the relay that comes with the horn as we have one that comes in the harness we ordered.
Hope it goes smooth

OK, so many Freds and we're all cool! LOL. Yeah, I'll take some pics and post 'em. You'll be using the better quality relay that's on the Eastern Beaver's harness, and it's weatherproof!

OK Horn is mounted and sounding good. Zipped up the bike last night and found I was missing 1 screw from the lower cowling :(
Guess I will go on line and order one for $2.50 plus $4 shipping huh??
Maybe I can just go down to the dealer and unscrew one from an ST on the floor :wasntme
Just ordered the mirror and fairing deflectors for next weeks project :excited:

It's cheaper (there's a oxy-moron) to just order one from the dealer and save on shipping.
