Hi All,

While searching around this afternoon I found what looks to be a direct replacement for the side reflectors on that are on many bikes. They come in red and orange and are sold in pairs. Each one has 17 LED's in it.

If side visibility is something you want to increase then these seem like a simple solution. $45/pair maybe is a little steep but I like the fact that it doesn't really change the stock look of the bike.

Curt, thanks for the tip. I had my local GW shop order in a couple sets for me. They really don't look any different from stock when on the bike... until they light up. That's what I was after. Looks like I'm going to have to drill a couple small holes in the rack to keep the wiring hidden. I'll post pictures of the finished job.

Cool. Please do. I really want to see what they look like. The thing I really like about them is that they look like the stock reflectors.

I bought a couple sets of the LED lights that are reflector replacements. They are Big Bike Parts products. 16-110R Red, 16-109A Amber. They really look stock until you turn them on.

Two 9/64" holes were required for the wiring on the rear lights, one on each side. The location is apx. 3/4" down from the top of the rack and apx. 1/2" back from the corner. This allows the holes to be directly behind the mounting bracket. Very clean.

0001 shows wiring/hole location
0002 shows wiring, connectors coming soon
0003 rear light off, looks stock
0004 front light off, looks stock
0005 front light on, looks HOT!!!

I still need to find connectors I really like. That will allow things to come apart easily for maintenance and/or future farkles.

I think these are a clean answer for side lighting the ST1300 desperately needs at night.

I like that... not too Wing-y.. LOL...

I was, at one point, thinking about adding some flush mount sportbike running/sig lights for the side fairing... but drilling into that fairing.. yeow..

I like this approach better...

nm6r,

Check out www.posi-lock.com, they make a nice connector that is quick to disconnect and reconnect. I used them on the LED mirror turn signals on my ST. You can find them at walmart and most autopart stores.

Good find Curt. Should help out a lot at night to be more visible

I'm thinking bigbikeparts should give me a break on a set since I got them a sale. :D

Yeah right. I would like a set but dropping another $100 is something I'm finding hard to do after the cruise and tires.

I'm glad others think they are as cool as I thought they were. Being that they look stock I think is great. I really like adding stuff that is functional but doesn't change the look of the bike.

Thanks,
Curt
