Hi guys:
A while ago I remember reading (of course I forget the critical points :) ), but someone had a post of a simple add-on to prevent paint chipping on the front fender from small road gravel etc. There was some mention of a 3M Product for this but of course I can't remember anything past that :D
Thanks in advance...

If you're thinking of the "stick on" stuff a cheaper alternative is clear number plate backing material available at any shop that sells dirt bikes. Cut a piece of paper as a template to match the area you want to cover, clean the area well with an alcohol swab and stick. Can be removed with hair dryer heat if needed. The ones I put on the top surface of my panniers and the painted "chin" of the lower fairing ***. are still there after much moisture and scuffing. HTH

3M makes a clear coating that sticks to the paint. Had it on the hood of my last pick up for four years and it is tough stuff and its almost invisible. You should be able to get it at any trim, paint or body shop.

Yep that was it, might use variations of both suggestions, and do it soon as its always easier to prevent it in the first place than to have fix the chips later....
thanks :)
