This is a great example of packing light and small. And it is an item that can do many things. I love these type of camping items. Worth their weight in gold! Thin, very lightweight and packs in a supplied bag no bigger than your hand! Just got it. Perfect under the mesh jacket and optimum for layering.

Good idea!

My FirstGear Mesh-Tex summer jacket has a zip-in snap-in liner that's a PITA. It would be much easier to just slip on (or off) a separate wind-proof shell instead, and leave the jacket's liner hanging in the closet...

Exactly! And you can wear it around camp. It would also aid in keeping warm over a thin fleece pullover like the one I have, then your mesh on top of that, and with a rain-jacket over all that you would be as toasty as a bug!

Layering clothes is the secret to keeping warm. Trapping still air between the layers as your body warmth will warm up the trapped air. You can add layers, or remove layers as temps. change. This is one great product!

Also, always keep a ski-type cap since, if it gets cold fast, keeping your head covered will help you sleep through the night.

Absolutely! I also carry with me a wide brim soft bush-cotton hat for sun protection. Wouldn't travel without it!
