Well, after 7 uneventful years one of my department's bikes finally got crashed hard.
My partner Jon was responding to a man with a gun call (suicide head shot- not pretty). He was on a side street with his emergency lights and siren on. A dope in a Toyota pick up truck heard him but didn't see him- so he turned left trying to get into a fast food joint. Yep, he turned directly in front of my partner who punched into the truck's driver side door.
Jon is scraped up but OK. The bike came out OK, too, though we won't see it back for several weeks (bars, fender, fairing, tank, engine guards, brake lever).
Always keep your head about you when riding to calls!
