Anybody have any experience with the Wolfman line or Roadgear line of soft luggage? I am looking at the Wolfman wolf tail for the ST as a tail bag for trips, or the Roadgear tail bag.

For a lot less money, or at least a little less, you can get something from REI (http://www.rei.com/online/store/Search?vcat=REI_SEARCH&stat=7889&langId=-1&storeId=8000&textQuery=duffel&x=12&y=19)...
I got a duffel bag a few years ago. The inside is lined/treated with some plastic coating so it's pretty watertight and big enough for a tent, sleeping bag, air mattress and misc items.

I wonder if I could get some feed-back on luggage for inisde 1300 Honda bags. The Honda line ones are expensive, are there after-market that guys have tried like RKA or whatever that fit and work well. Saw some comments on that long time ago...Appreciate some feed-back :04biker:

Dave,
We've got the RKA saddle bag liners in both our ST's and we love 'em. They're very well-made and allow you to put more in the saddlebags than you can without the soft liners. Kinda nice to just open the saddlebags and pull out the liners to take in the motel instead of fighting with a bunch of stuff sacks and other loose stuff.
RKA is a great company to work with. At first we had a set of the liners for an RT, but we sold the RT, and RKA allowed us to exchange them for a set to fit the ST1300, at no cost to us. If I remember correctly, they were just a shade over $95.00 a set, and well worth the price. They fit perfectly inside the saddlebags.

:04biker: Thanks Greg...
We got an immediate response from RKA when we e-mailed them about their bags..There is no one handling them in Canada, but we can get them shipped. That is the way we will go...Thanks again...Spring is coming up here, got a little more snow this morning about -17..but the days are getting longer and the sun warmer...

Hi Guys,
Coincidentally I just ordered a full set of soft luggage inners for my ST1300. (2 pannier inners plus top box inner) These are based on the Hondaline products but have been modified to use all the available space in the panniers / top box. The pannier bags also zip together for carrying. I thought these were a real bargain, and attach the sales details below, in case anyone else wants a set.

They accept PAYPAL and also have ebay listings in case you prefer to haggle!
I sent them a mail and Daz replied within 5 minutes!!

Dave,
Try the Bestem USA liners found at cruiserbackrest.com . There is a write up by the reverend biker at jackphelps.com. I think they run $59.95 a set, but can be found on E-bay for less. I am still using the RKA bags bought for my ST1100 on the 1300. Fit OK, and give me a little room to stuff my bike cover (or a bottle of Crown, toilet paper, or cleaning rags) in front of the bag as well for quick removal! RKA's were about $100, and couldn't see selling them at a loss and paying the difference for the 1300 version. They are well made though.

If you have a Backrest like I do now,,, I would HIGHLY recommend a "T-Bag" Universal Helmet Bag...
T-Bag (http://www.tbags.com/detail.aspx?ID=20&SelectedCat=3>)
It can be had for about $100 and made better than anything I have found... It fits perfectly in either the back or swing it around and set it on the passenger seat and use it as a drivers backrest... Holds a lot of stuff and looks good doing it too... Has internal straps in it too so it always looks like it was "Installed,,, not attached... ;)
It will fit a 14 inch wide Backrest...

I really appreciate all the responses this is a great site. Got some good info for the one armed rider..In the soft luggage issue, bags for inside hard bags, both RKA and Besteem make good stuff I gather. I though I read some where a while back that the "Full Size" Besteem bags where a tight fit, where as the standards were okay, any experience with Besteem, I checked out JackPhelps, couldn't discern if he had the "Full Size" or standard. Besteem seems to have both sizes listed, any comments??? :04biker:

Hi, I'll post an update on whether the oversize Bestem bags are a tight fit when mine arrive ... can probably take some piccies as well if you want. Cheers. Rob

:04biker: Thanks again for the feedback on the Besteem bags, appreciate the lessons a person can learn from the "trials" of others. We are going to put a Sargent back rest on, put T-Bag backt there, maybe a small tank bag. My wife is a wonder at packing things "small", she's a keeper, loves the Cruiser style bikes, but likes the power of the St...Never want to do this, check out the top icon......

I'll give great credit to Wolfman Luggage. I have one of his tank bags and I really like it.
I do have a T-Bag that I had on my Harley and I use it on my ST but you sort of need the rack mounted to a trunk to use it the way it was intended. It was nice to pack everything in that and keep just my riding gear in the bags. Then when I got to the hotel I could just drop the TBag in the room and take off.

:04biker: One the biggest problems with Cruisers and Sport Tourers with their limited luggage space is what to do with the leathers when you stop. We have custom made leathers, worth a small fortune, can't bring myself to leave em on the seat. When it's warm you do not want to walk around with on an they weigh a ton to carry. So we put the luggage on the seat, tied down and lock leathers in bags...but I'd rather do that, than travel in a cage..

at the latter end of last year I ordered the LARGE Bestem bags and received the SMALL bag. I think the difference is about $10. I e-mailed and was asked to provide mesurements for the bags I had I suppose to confirm what I had received. I was offered to return them for replacement. The cost of postage and another hit by customs and excise was going to cost more than the original bags so I didn't bother and took the $10 on the chin.
That said the bags are excellent and very good quality although it would have been nice to receive what I had ordered.

For the ST11 I got the Hondaline liners ... they cost a bit but are well made and fit perfectly ... if you think Honda accessories are expensive, take a look at BMW stuff ... ha ! .... but again, both are well made, fit, blah blah blah.

I got the Bestem full size ST1300 saddlebag liners as a Christmas present and found that you can't overpack them.
They will put serious pressure on the hinges and lock if you overstuff.
I normally pack them carefully and they do fully fill the saddlebags

Dannyk, I have a set of Nelson Riggs soft gear I use for trips, I like to keep the ST on the sporty side until I go for a trip then I add the soft luggage.
I don't care for the look of the tail boxes out threre nor the mounting system that is left when you ride without them.
I made a small support that screws into the stock tail piece, goes on and comes off easy enough yet supports the soft luggage great and the luggage re,oves easy enough too.
ANother shot of the Nelson Rigg set up. Later today I can take a couple of pics shoeing the plate I made for the tail piece.

Can you provide more detail about the small support that screws into the stock tail piece? I couldn't tell much from the picture. Thanks for your help.
