I wasn't too crazy about the red at first (honda pic :o4: ) but when more people started posting pics of their bikes then I had to have one.

Very nice!

How close is the color match of the box to the bike? Looks like an exact match in the pics.

Exact match, I can't tell the difference if there is one. The box is great and am glad I got this one over the Givi, the looks on the Givi are not as good as the Hondaline and I rode behind a person that had a the 52L and it was boncing all around and did not look right. The hondaline sits down lower. I know its smaller but the few times I wish for a bigger hard bag, I can just strap someting down on the passenger seat if needed.

FYI, yours is probably bouncing too... I was told by a friend that mine was bouncing and sure enough, when I looked back there while riding, it was.

It may not be the intent of the manufacturer but I took washers and elimintated the movement as I didn't like it.

Could be, but just seeing that 52L bouncing up high like that I changed my mind and got the hondaline.

Eliminating the movement is not what they designed it for. I left it as is because in Michigan there are some days that almost blow you off your bike if your not carefull. I was driving to Chicago last year in March and hit a wind gust that almost blew me to the next lane and wasn't supposed to be windy that day. The top box and the sheild up makes you that much more susceptible to winds.

I hear ya, in West Texas there's an area on I-20 I take on the way to Big Bend and the wind is so constant there are giant windmills all over. I don't think I've ever been through that area when the wind wasn't blowing.

And the thing is, pictures usually don't do a bike justice. If it looks that good on film, I could only imagine what it looks like in person on a bright sunny day.

Bike looks great, thinking of getting same. Where did you order the top box, as I want to do same and get the correct red colour.

Got mine from www.sporttouringusa.com (http://www.sporttouringusa.com/www/ST1300.htm)

You can also get it from ww.CruiserBackrest.Com (http://CruiserBackrest.Com)
Cheaper but uses Paypal

Also, David Silver Spares in the UK. Got to add high shiping cost and convert from the Pound.

What about a driver and passenger back rest without the topbox?

There is a few options. Corbin, and I think Sargent makes a seat with passenger backrest. Pirates Layer (sorry for the mispelling) makes one. I don't have backrests for myself but the Hondabox backrest is a good one.

Looks very pretty. I think we need a patriotic moment. Red, Silver and Blue bikes together!! Works for the USA, Canada, UK and AU!!!

I bought the backrest from Pirates Lair. Its the same as Sargent's since they are making them for Sargent. It arrived quickly, and is a nice big wide backrest that hits the right spot. It was just a few minute install.
