I'll be there. And you're absolutely right, some of the best riding in the U.S. can be found in western NC and eastern TN.

Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground - EARLY, like 6-7am to eat breakfast with us and be sure everyone is not already gone for the day. I am not sure what time Gene rolls out on the rides he leads, but every one else I have been on with others is usually clutch out at 7-8-ish and gone for the day.

Well, Left the campground at 3:30 AM this morning and arrived back in the Holler around 9:15 (made a little breakfast stop along the way). Passed a bunch of peg & potato paraders on the slab and went through some rain just east of Knoxville. Got in some great riding with some great folks. Thanks again Gene for setting it up one more time! ;)

Good time was had by _me!_ Long hot day getting there on Friday but
the weather turned cooler just east of Knoxville. Small T-STorm made
the temps drop about 20º. Caught the large group at the Juke Box Cafe
just west of Cruso before I even got to the campground. Good timing.
After the ride down from Jasper, IN my t-shirt was sweat/salt stained.
That hasn't happened in a long time.
Saturday started great with breakfast at the Juke Box, then Jason,
Denny and I started south on the 215 with Glen and Fergus following.
Good road, great ride (except the sight of another rider on a
back-board at the edge of the road being administered to by NC's
finest para-medics. At the south end of 215, we heard from another
rider that Glen had fallen. Upon returning, I relieved Fergus from
baby-sitting Glen. He and I spent a good part of the afternoon
visiting with the friendly folks in who's front yard he had crashed.
Nice old couple.
(Should also mention, while we were keeping Glen sane, Uncle Phil was in Ashville helping another hapless participant get his _new_ [but seriously deflated!] rear tire replaced.)
After Glen and Carmen (his wife) were on their way I made it back to
the campground in time for a good dinner and a long visit with the
troops.
This morning, Jason and I headed out to search for unknown roads. We
found several including state road 70 into Virginia. It was so good we
turned around and did it again. Back on the south side a string of
Harleys went past just as we were ready to turn back around yet again!
Ugh. So, we took off on a side road (Virginia 604) At the other end,
we observed that same gaggle of HDs heading south on US-421 as we
turned north. Good fortune.
Earlier in the day, we found a good breakfast at the Homestead
Restaurant on the north side of Morristown, TN. Recommended
After the fun in Virginia, we rode mostly 421 with a couple side
trips, some good, some not so good, carried us to Georgetown, KY where
Jason plied me with M&Ms and ice water til his wife arrived with the
kids. Pleasant conversation was followed by a quick gear-up and
more...
GO RIDE!!
After a little more KY back road rambling, I got on I-64 at Frankfort,
KY and put the hammer down west-bound for my sister's place in Jasper,
IN, where I now transcribe this lengthy epistle.
EaSTOC was another in Gene's long list of successes. Thanks, Gene.

So Glen's okay, that's good, let us know if you have any details of the crash if you know them.
Glad you had a good time, I think I was mowing the yard.

I feel bad that I didn't make this one, but I had a free ride to my GWRRA Rally, so I went there instead. However looking back on the money I spent at the vendors' booths, I probably would have saved money by going to EaSToc. New boots, new helmet, new gloves, new jacket, pants and gloves for the SO. Kaching!!!!!
Sorry about the accidents. Hope everyone concerned is alright.

Glen must'a had a brain fart but he's not the first (Glen, jump in any time!) Junior and Maxine, the property owners, say they've lost track of the number of accidents on that turn. When I told Gene about it later he knew exactly where it happened. Notorious corner, slight but decreasing radius, off camber to the left and downhill as ya head south on 215. Slightest inattention will spill ya into the hay field (freshly mowed this time.) Glen grabbed to much brake and washed out. The bike flipped a couple times as he slid across the slick grass. End of story.
Pics when I get home next week.

Thanks George, as long as he's okay, the rest can be fixed... hey, do they sell brain beano? I'm sure I could use some from time to time.

Back to back great weekend. First NaSTOC then EaSTOC. Until NaSTOC I hadn't ever seen another ST. Great people and great riding. Thanks to everyone involved at EaSTOC, specially Gene.
If I did this right there should be a few pics here. See ya at the next event.
