Mellow, it looks like your CB has a velcro strap around it. I've been looking for something like that. Where did you get it?

Ray, I think I got that in the crafts dept at Wal-mart. It's got velcro on each side so when you wrap it around on top of itself, it sticks.

I tried using the velcro on the mount and back of the CB but broke the belt clip off trying to un-velcro it.

I'll see how this works the next few days while I'm in Big Bend.

I was looking at my list here
http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2475 and will be adding a ball mount for the clutch reservoir, lower pegs and mirror fairings. But, as I read the list for Keith R my bike is starting to look pretty naked...
Well, back to the shed.

Farkle on! :03biker:

On my 03, I had the GPS in the center and mounted it right on the dash with Ram mount. Maybe you want to try this first it worked out good and did not block much view of the road. The only reason I am not doing it again with the 05 is I don't want to put any holes in my ST if I don't have to and I have it mounted on my MC Larry/Ram mount.

I never asked but he did say it cost him about 70 bucks.
Bolted on so somebody would have to take some time to steal it.
If you want more info I'll give Ron a call.

Looks like something from the "GADGET GUY" they make some really nice stuff, a little pricey but top notch. They make a GPS mount that is a true work of art. A $600 work of art done on a CNC mill.

If you get a chance and think about it ask where he got it next time you talk with him. Just curious.

Mike, I'm trying to keep as close as damn-it to stock. The only thing I added was a RAM Mount bracket for my GPS and a power connector. Everything else isn't needed!!

I like pure in all forms!!

You guys crack me up ... how can you ride with all those distractions ! ... but to each his own - glad you're keeping the economy in order :-)

For just a Corbin seat for now ... likely throttlemeister soon and possibly a small tankbag ... MP3 player just for the ears, maybe ... ;)

Thats too funny :crackup

Horst, I know what you are talking about. I saw pics on the Calsi and ST1300.us sites about a guy that had a crash involving a car. He had a load of gadgets on his ST1300. You wonder sometimes if the gadgets had something to do with it.

I have a messload of gadgets on my ST but all connected to my Autocom and in my tankbag except GPS for that reason.

Some modifications seem reasonable; throttle rockers, cruise control, proper sized grips, hyperlites and other safety devices; even heated clothing for colder climates, but I really don't understand the whole "farkle" thing.
Why would anyone need to run a gps on a bike? Has everyone forgotten how to read a map? Does it really matter that an indicated 90mph is actually 82.5.
The satellite radios, mp3 players, cb radios ? well, maybe some tunes would be good on a very long trip, but do you really want to haul all that hardware around with you all the time ?
Cell phone holders? what, are you expecting a call so important, you can't wait to check your messages at the next stop. The whole point of riding used to be to get away from all the distractions.
Radar detectors are fine, but they really don't help much if you pop over a hill or round that corner at 100 mph, they will just beep to let you know you got busted.
Extra large windshields, air deflectors, extended fairings , intercoms; why not just add two more tires for stability and a top for extra weather protection.
It must be an age thing, I remember flying low across the Mohave on my new 1982 CBX, 100+ mph through Joshua Tree, making Phoenix-L.A. runs in record times; dodging rabbits at top speed through the Nevada outback headed toward Westgard Pass and the Sierra; leaning into the wind for hours along the coast highway to Big Sur or outrunning storm fronts in Texas.
None of this high tech gear would have made much difference then; I always ( well, mostly) knew where I was and I cannot remember being so bored that I needed music or talk radio to enhance the experience.
It can be cool to know your exact position to the yard and your altitude to the meter, talk to truckers and carry on a conversation with a passenger if you ride two-up, (that's another rant, but to me, these machines are just too dangerous to carry passengers, especially my wife), but some of these bikes just seem way too cluttered, with too many distractions not only from the immediate hazards of the road, but also from solitude of the time and place.

Its funny jsl this sounds almost exactly like a speech one of my riding buddies gave while sitting in the middle of west Texas on our way to big bend. He could not understand why I had so much stuff on the bike. Of course two days later when he got us lost he did not think my GPS was such a waist of space, and when his phone lost its charge he did not laugh at my fully charged phone, and when DPS was coming down I 10 while he was trying to catch up (BMW) and my radar detector picked him up on the other side of the hill and I was able to communicate using my frs to the Goldwing next to him that DPS was present he had a whole new opinion.

To each their own I use my bike purely for pleasure, my pleasure. If I dont want music I turn the xm off, if I don't want to talk on the phone I don't answer it. It's pretty simple to me.
