Is there anyone in the area able to check out the Spadra campground:

Spadra located on the Arkansas River 2 miles south of Clarksville on State 103 to Jamestown, then 1 mile on access road. Facilities include 35 RV/Tent with electricity, flush toilets, water, showers, boat dock and ramp, pavilion, trailer dump station, marina and restaurant. Open year-round. User's fee charged. Boat launch fee charged year-round.

I'm not usually keen to staying in a campground so close to the city because there are usually a lot of locals and this will be the time of year when the colors will be great so I have a feeling it will be packed. However, it is so close to TexSTOC headquarters that it makes it appealing.

My preference would be Mt Nebo but that 39 miles from Clarksville and in prime deer country...

Will anybody else be camping at Texstoc? I'm planning on checking out Spadra when I get into town Friday afternoon, unless someone has found a better spot.

I'm thinking about going and camping also.
I looked at a few maps and found the general vicinity of Spadra cg. Looks like it is on the river, but really close to the railroad. That may or may not be a problem. There are other private cg's in the same area, so there may be choices. Although, I'll go where you guys decide.

I think Spadra is a Corps or Engineers facility, they're usually well maintained with decent bath houses.

FYI, check Arkansas dot com... about 15 miles north on SR103...

Quote"The Mulberry flows in a west-southwesterly course. Access points are fairly common, particularly where the stream is within the Ozark National Forest. Primary points of access include Wolf Pen campground (off Ark. 215) Arkansas Highways 23, 103, and 215, Campbell Cemetery (off FR 1512), Forest Roads 1501, and 1504, and U.S. 64. And while the Mulberry is located in some of the state's wildest country, the stream is amazingly convenient; the Highway 23 crossing is less than a dozen miles north of Interstate 40. Outfitters are located on and near the river and supplies and overnight accommodations or camping can be found easily."
