I met Rita about 6 years ago.. shortly after we met she found out she had Ovarian Cancer... 2 rounds of chemo and radiation later he kicked it.. took a couple years after that for her appetite and other systems to get somewhat back to normal.
Then, someone rear ends her at a light and she had to get some physical therapy which last about a year. She still have aches and pains.
Now, after a fall she took she had knee surgery a few weeks ago, pretty routine stuff... however, the knee looked like it was getting infected. The surgeon said it was just typical arthritis and he went in and cleaned it out and said it should be better within a few days.
A few days pass and her pain just keeps getting worse... she's getting pain pills but they mess with her stomach and appetite and since she's borderline diabetic she had a seizure last night. She got better however, I just got a call that her mom/sis are taking her to the hospital via ambulance as the seizures started again and wouldn't stop.
I would never ask for prayers for myself as I'm fine but this woman has gone through more in the short time I've known her than most people do their entire life. I'm asking for your thoughts for her because it seems she just can't catch a break lately. She's stronger than I could ever think about being but I also know she's pretty fed up with the hand she's been given and a few good comments from strangers just may help her get past another hurdle.
Thanks
sherob

God bless.

Thanks everyone!... I'll pass this on to her. They are evaluating her but the initial impression is that the infection in her knee would be making her sugar level rise and causing the seizures. I'm no Dr and sometimes you feel like you're being lied to in order to prevent a law suit. I guess that's just the way it is..
Anyway, she's much better at the moment so looks like all your comments made a difference, at least to the two of us they did.
Again, thanks!

Joe,
Please pass on my best wishes to Rita. She sounds like a wonderful and strong gal. I hope that the diabetes thing is the cause of the seizures. Do your best to establish a good rapport with a doctor involved. One that you trust and can communicate with, goes a long way toward helping the healing.
Also, remember to take care of yourself as well. She needs you strong.
Take care

Concerning her infected knee, medical science is only recently
discovering that "staph" infections need to be treated topically as well as with intravenously. I have a revolutionary topical wound care product that is healing things than cannot be healed....see attached endorsement letter. If this gets to
be a problem for her let me know and I will send you some.

Hi Joe, my wife who is also a cancer survivor just very recently went through surgery to have her thyroid removed which her Doctors felt may have also become cancerous. Yesterday she found out that it wasn't and that she is cancer free. What a tremendous relief. I don't know how she handles the stress.

I'm just really shocked that you have all this going on in your life and still have time to deal with this site. This site by the way is jaw dropping at times, things are constantly being done to better it, the Mods reply with answers to questions with in minutes most of the time. Very few people on this site are "disagreeable" All I can say is WOW!:bow1: :clap2:
Rita is in my prayers Joe and so are you in these difficult times. Your a humble man Joe. You unselfishly give your time everyday to people you have never even met. I wish I could offer more.

I second the ring suggestion. However, after being married to a RN for all these years, I might humbly make another suggestion. Get her back to the DR. Pain should not be increasing. If they try to tell you "not to worry, its fine," find another DR. pronto.

Nah, that doesn't scare me, we're already committed to each other so neither one of us puts all that much importance on the actual act of getting married. We're stuck with each other no matter what.
She had a 3rd surgery Friday to remove the infection and she should be on antibiotics this time for up to 6 weeks. She's getting a lot of rest and isn't in near as much pain as she was before.
She can't believe all the great comments, but then again, she can. Thanks to all, I'll try to get her to log on and say thanks herself once she feels up to it.

You and Rita are on my prayer list. There are a lot of times that we just don't understand why some people have to go through so much. However, I can assure you with the utmost confidence that I have always been able to look back on tough events in my life and saw where God was at work.
I believe I've said this before on this site, but I'll say it again... "Instead of telling God how big your problems are, try telling your problems how big your God is!"

Rita, now don't let all this prayer action go to your head!:-D Let it go to your heart too! If Joe is any reflection of the kind of gal you are, well, you must be an Unbelievably fantastic person! Glad to hear that your surgery went well and that the pain is abating. Knowing the power of our Father is on your side is a good thing too!!
I've personally been touched by God several times. The latest was when we found that my Father has (forgive my spelling here) Mylanoma (bone cancer). It's a long story but to make it short, the doc's found it very early and Dad took to the medication quite well. He went into remission within 6 months and has kept it that way for about a year now. He's no longer taking medication for it but still getting regular blood work done. Looks like we get to have him around for quite a while yet!:hat1: Proof for me that prayers are answered!!!:bow1:
I'll keep praying for you and Joe for the courage and strength to cope as well as a healing had to take this illness away from you! Stay stronge and give Joe a hard time for us!!:a13:

Glad to know Rita is doing better... you don't mind if she stays in our prayers for a little while, right? :)

I'm glad Rita is back home and on the mend. Not sure I like the fact she going back to work using a walker, but...

Unbelievable!:hat1:
Way to go Rita! Just make sure to not over-do it! I'm still gonna send prayers thou as I feel a person can't ever get enough of them!
Joe! Thanks for the update an yes you're in those prayers too! Only problem is that since you put this catagory in the site, I don't have as much time to eat my meals and my wife is wondering why it's taking me so long to get into bed! (let's see there SupraSaber, Joe & Rita, Mac & Gail, George and his family, Oh and now Alicia, Putt, Medicinebear, Squirrelhunter, .................................................. .................................................. ..................)
:bow1: :bow1: :bow1: :bow1: :bow1: :bow1: :bow1:
You get the ideal! LOL!:clap2:
I'm really not complaining, I just thought that would sound funny!
God bless you both!

Mellow,
I've been lurking for a while. I'm sure a lot of the forum members were silent like me - it's easier to respond to threads that are interesting or controversial than the personal ones.
I did keep you and Rita in my thoughts and prayers.
I'm really glad things are improving and will keep sending positive thoughts your way from behind my lurk shield :D.

Joe,
Sorry I missed this earlier. Sounds like Rita is a fighter! You tell her to fight the good fight! And our thoughts and prayers are with her for a full and speedy recovery!

Glad to hear Rita is doing better. Did they ever come up with a solid diagnosis? I don't recall reading about it.
