Just finished my hyperlite install and am very happy with it. I cut the green wire that makes the lights flash for 5 seconds and then go steady, instead of continuously flashing. $61 to the door and probably one of the best safety farkles out there.
I used a round file under the grab rail to make a little room for the wires to go under. :03biker:

So do the hyper lights just come on solid now when the brakes are applied like the OEM brake light does? I would prefer that over the flashing.

No, they flash for approx. 5 seconds and then stay on steady. You can, however, buy them without the flasher and they are even less expensive that way.

Very nice! Looks integrated. Where did you get the L bracket?
Had a set of these on my very first bike and been thinking of getting them for this one. Wasn't sure where to mount them, but your setup looks perfect.

Yes very curious about the L bracket. Do tell.

Believe it or not, they are zinc plated steel "corner braces" from your local hardware store 1.5" x 5/8". I sprayed them black with rustoleum paint, three coats. They attached perfectly to the reflector mount on the back of the grab rail.
Total cost for braces, about $2.39. They come 4 to a pack.

Jeff - very nicely done! At that price, I'll need to pick up a set for both my wife and me. The brake light on her V Rod really sucks and this looks it would be a good addition for both of us. Thanks for sharing your results.

Yup. They will get your attention all right. Great added safety feature.

I really like them. Don't suppose we can get them in the UK? Is there a web site you could direct me to please?

Jeff4912,
I just received my Hyperlites today.
What colour wire is the brake power wire on the ST1300 that you connected to?
Great addition. Thanks

I know it was the striped wire and I think the wire was blue with a yellow stripe and I know the ground was green.
There are only three wires back there at the brake light and the stipped one is the power to the brake light and the one to tap into for the hyperlites.

Thanks Jeff.
How much of the tail section did you have to remove to get at the brake light wires?

I just removed the rear fender (The part that has the license plate on it) and that exposes the wires to the taillight. That's where I tapped into it.
