These are supposed to be the best and for the price  they should be. I guess only the best should be good enough for the ST. These don't have two drivers, they have three. WOW! Ultimate Ear 10 (http://www.ultimateears.com/)

Sorry to be a downer, but even at $900 the earpieces you've seen would be next to useless on a motorcycle.

The biggest problem for us is signal to noise ratio, when we are blasted with up to 95 Db of wind noise on top of the audio signal we are trying to listen to. We need that wind noise to be monitored and then inserted in antiphase with the audio signal.

Fitting custom earplugs with an audio bypass can be a partial solution - they reduce all signals including the wind noise by up to 65 Db. That leaves 30 Db of wind noise, mixed with the attenuated audio signal you want. Hardly hi fi, where you are looking for unwanted noise to be 3 Db or less.

What we need is someone like Bose to launch a set of earpieces or a custom helmet for motorcyclists with active noise cancellation (like Airplane pilots use). This is not rocket science - but how come noone's done it yet?

Cheers,
Rob
