Wake up from a good nights sleep - look out the window and its scraper time!
Temp went down to -7 Celcius last night and the frost was a definate killer for any tender plant life. Any of youse guys in the temperate regions wanna houseguest for the next six months? - I help with the cooking and cleaning, and am generally a neat person and my SO says pretty good to have around the house.

Sure, come out east. Just in time to watch the 'Roughies win the cup in Toronto.

Mick,

So you think you'd enjoy 41c every day better?
We should have that for daily high temp until well into October...

I was having a discussion with a co-worker the other day on if it was nicer to ride in the cool fall air or cool spring air. I kept saying spring because you don't have the leaves on the ground and such. He was saying the fall. I won the argument today with my comment that spring is better because you are used to the cold. This morning on my ride in was 40f out. Not real cold but I was colder then I recalled being this spring. My riding gear was the same. The difference that I pointed out to him is the visible on that first day when it is 50f out and everyone is running around in shorts and t-shirts. We are used to the colder weather. My hands always get cold but today I could feel it more in my chest and legs.

Since I don't have heated anything on my ST and really don't want to add it running the 28 amp alternator, I may have to add another layer this fall. I have found a source of heat from the fairing by my knees. At least the 1100 gives off a little warmth there to keep the feeling in my fingers.

Heated grips would sure be nice or maybe some of them heated gloves that I saw mentioned in another thread.

At least it gets me used to the winter weather a little faster.

Anthony - sounds like a plan - see the green & white in the Big Smoke - its our year, and then maybe hang out with Stress and Colin Farrell after the cup :) :)
Mark - but its a dry heat! and you dont have to scrape it off your windows to be able to see.
Sennister - I have to agree with your friend - fall is my favorite time - humidity isnt as high and the cold doesnt chill you to the core like a nice April day, the roads are free from salt and sand and the day may start out cold - but then the sun comes out and life is good - except for all the movement of the Bambi's. Fall is nicer to, because even if there is a bit of snow in the ditch - all the ground isnt trying to eliminate 4 ft of winter frost into the air.

So is your ovens heat... would you want to ride in a convection oven? :D

We're used to it; but, you wouldn't be... I had my sister down here from Montana and she about died in May one year. And that was in the spring before the real heat hit.. :D

I guess that is the opposite to me. Sure temp wise 40f is 40f no matter if it is fall or spring. To me after dealing with 10f for several months 40f feels like 70 in the fall. I didn't feel it in my core (chest and other protected areas) this spring but I could feel it this morning. I really do think that after a long winter you tend to get used to it.

As for the salt and sand that is another good point on the fall side. But after on good April shower that isn't an issue.

Everyone has their opinions on this but there is no way I would want to give up my seasons. Even though that means I can't ride for part of the year and my shoulder hurts from arthritis when the weather changes.

I'd take Arizona at any time of the year.It always does take a few weeks to acclimate to the hotter portion of the year.Just as long as you keep hydrated LOL.OFC if it gets too hot you can escape to the mountains! But then you might not want to come back down for 6 months LOL:eek:
