I'm getting ready to change tires for the first time on my '04.

My bike came with wheel balance weights clamped on to the center ridge of the wheel rims.

I currently have a set of stick-on type 1/4 oz. weights that I use for my other bike, but would prefer to use something similar to what's already on the ST.

Does anyone know if (a) the clamp on weights that came with my bike are reusable or (b) a commercial source for these weights?

Thanks,

Vince

They should be re useable, not sure of where to get more though except from mother Honda. I just used the tape on weights if the original ones didn't do the job.

If you have access to them (they've been banned up here) lead fishing weights work well. I'm talking about the ones that have a split in them for line attachment. Just use a pair of pliers to squeeze them tight once you're done with the balance.

They are reusable. When I changed my rear, I removed one weight and moved the other to obtain my new balance. My bike originally came with two weights. If you find a source for more, let us know. My honda shop only has the stick-on weights.

My Honda shop wanted $13.50 ea for the weights but didn't have them in stock. I order them from Hondadirect.com for $7.55 ea. Make sure the yellow dot on the tire is lined up with your valve stem and you probably won't need the weights. Good luck.

I juST change my front tire and decided to replace the valve STem. A STem for the ST was about $10ish and the identical STem for a quad was about $3ish.
Always take good care of your parts counter personnel.
