There are some updates that will be performed to hopefully reduce if not eliminate the server load issues we've been having over the past few weeks.
I don't have an estimated time for how long this takes but I would think maybe a couple hours. It may take longer or it may be back up within a few mins.
So, please be patient, hopefully, this will show an immediate benefit to how fast the site responds.

12PM is Noon.
Actually, 12 noon is "noon". There is no 12 a.m. nor 12 p.m. The server will go down after 11:59 a.m., or after noon (not afternoon).
I know, I know, but we science people are like that.

In the thread title when you say CST do you mean Central Standard time? Because all of us on Daylight time will need to adjust our ST-owners clocks one hour to compensate.:D

LOL.. we're back up.. Hopefully, the site will be a little faster or at least not have the periods of ssslslloowwwwneeeesss we've been having..
If it still has issues we have a few other things we can do to react to that as well.
Thanks for your patience.

Joe,
FYI- I still get an unusual number of "time outs" when I attempt to access the site. This sometimes happens when I am already in and choosing another page, and sometimes when trying to load from my bookmark.

Thanks Dave, that change that was made was based on server load issues. I'm not sure if those will cause you a timeout however, I think the server was re-booted a couple times between the time it came back on and now so you might have caught it during one of those times.
For now, we'll just keep monitoring it. Keep the updates coming and in a couple weeks we may try some different configuration settings.
Dang, I missed it because I was riding. ha ha Mark, Chris, and Bryan. I saw Mt. St. Helens from Windy Ridge with a very bright yellowish thing high in a blue sky but the roads are just as torn up - maybe even more :-(.
Thanks Mellow for making this site work even better.

Joe, I am still experiencing a large number of either time-outs or server not found messages. Only for this site. You trying to tell me something?

Nope, it's worse than it was before... and that was after we backed out our change... We are on to some mysql config changes to see if that helps.. we may be looking at a new hosting company again..
Unfortunately, that's just the way things are these days.

I agree, it's really bad around just when I take lunch here....it timed out and gave me an error page twice before my last thread answer could be posted....sorry Joe, I know you guys work really hard at this, it's gotta be a PIA. Sure appreciate you all trying to get it better.
EJ
Good luck on the fix! I'd help ya.... :wink:but I don't know anything about this stuff......
