Thanks to all the MSF instructors for having the patience that is required to do such a task. How do I know you have patience because:

After my wife and I took the Wing on our 16 days vacation this past summer my wife had asked what I thought about her learning how to "drive" a motorcycle. Of course I thought it was great and encouraged her to sign up for the class as I told her I would not teach her mainly because I didn't think I could do her justice. (Politically correct for saying "I don't want to open that can of worms). Anyway, she is very timid of new things and quite honestly I wasn't sure she had the coordination to pull it off without lots of practice. Don't get me wrong she is the love of my life and I support her 100%

Not only did she pass the class but only missed 1 point on the skills test and one question on the knowledge test. Proved me wrong didn't she! Keep in mind she had never and I mean never been at the controls before.

So thanks to all the instructors out there, because without your knowledge and skills and more importantly your patience alot of people would get discouraged trying to learn how to ride and never experience what we all experience each time we ride.

My hat is off to you

Michael - great idea. I think this is one group of unsung heroes we haven't recognized before. I certainly learned a lot from my instructors, all 14 of them! LOL

Your story is the main reason I have started down the road to become one.
Sadly the state instructor class I had all the time off for filled up. :(

Now I have to wait until spring to take the class.

I have been shadowing and doing the pre-class training with Puget Sound motorcycle safety and I can say even just being the "trainee" the gratification of seeing somebody go from ZERO time on a bike to passing the basic course makes it all worthwhile. :D

Congrats on having a new riding buddy.
Being able to ride with my wife is just an AWESOME experience.

Michael, I can tell you that a female with no prior experience is what the class is set up for. They listen, and contrary to belief, do what we tell them and usually pass better than someone with 30 years experience. We have to break old habits with the experienced people and instill new ones. With someone with no experience we have a blank sheet of paper.

A heartfelt thanks to all those people with the patience of saints who teach MSF or equivalent classses. Took my class several years ago as an experienced rider as a way of avoiding the road test requirement for the cycle endorsement. So glad I did as it is one of the best investments you can make in your riding toolkit.

Unbelievable!:hat1: Way to go!! My wife and I took the class together! Now we have great fun riding stagered by stagered (as they teach in the class) !

Can't say enough about MSF instructors!!!:clap2: Ours were great and very patient with their students! (Guess that disqualifies me from being an instructor! )

Motomac, you're an instructor??? Do you teach the advanced class? Do you teach long distance riding...oh, well maybe LD riding isn't in the curriculem!:-D Anyway, have you ever considered an OH-MSF-SToc?:a13:

Moto has it right about the experienced tiders too! I was one of those when I took the class and my wife wasn't. Funny the stuff she learned to do faster that I did just because of her lack of self taught bad hadits like mine!

+1 to what Tarfin said! That was why I took the class with my wife!

Thank you MSF instructors!!!:hat1: :clap2:
