Hi all,
I called my brother Dave on Saturday morning and found that Gloria was home from the hospital, but not because she had recovered. The doctor has given her less then a month to live.
Seems that her cancer is continuing to take its toll on her and her tumors are quite active and the Chemo is not doing much other then slowing it down a shade or two.
With that news I talked to my wife and we both agreed that I needed to go see them. So I took off around 11:30am Saturday morning and rode the 500 miles up to Sacramento. I got there about 7:00pm.
I was able to visit with them. Gloria is on heavy meds, so she was in and out durning the time I was there. She has to have 24 hour care, so Dave's son's; Bobby (lives in Texas) and Daniel (in the Army in Germany) came home to be with them too.
Dave also has a son and daughter that still live in Sacramento that are helping out where they can.
So at this point all that can be done is to try to make her as comfortable as possible. At least both have a good healthy attitude and are handling things very well.
I was glad that I was able to go up there. It was a really fast trip and very tiring, but well worth it!

They and you are in my prayers...
Live Every Moment,,, Love Every Day Because,,, Before you know it,,, Your Precious Time Slips Away...
I also would like to express my sadness over heading of her down turn , please don't count this as over as the Lord can always step in and provide a miracle !! I've seen it happen and even a few here on this board can testify to being a miracle . Hang in there and be a strong support for your family.
They and you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Mark
So sorry to hear this. My prayers were sent for your family.
You are all in my prayers.
I have a friend, that rides an ST, that had brain cancer. Not the same thing, but he was given his time left as the chemo had faild a second time. He gave up on the chemo with 6 months left to live. Someone contacted him with a long shot and he took it. It was a whole foods diet. His brain tumor started to shrink and he is now free of cancer. If you are interested in learning more about this, I can get you in touch with him. PM me if you want. It may be worth a try????
Remember, we are all with you and yours during this time of need....

Ahhh, Ratsafrack. Bob, my deepest sympathy and feelings for you and Dave and your whole family. Is a just a terrible thing...
The reason I wear my hair so nice and curly is from my sister-in-law. It was just about the only way I could show my support for her with her cancer. I know you will be strong and there for your brother. In our case, I think it was harder on my brother than on my sister-in-law.

sorry to hear this kind of news. prayers to you all.
I am so sorry to hear the news. Only God knows what you all are going through & He loves each and everyone of you very much.
My prayers are with you all. May God grant you His peace that passes all understanding.
I tell folks that no matter what physical condition they may be in, here's a truth... they are no closer to dying than I or anyone else. We are all just a heartbeat away. We may see folks get in bad shape, but we're all just one heartbeat away. Ride prepared...
I love all you folks as Brothers & Sisters,

I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers. It really does mean a lot. It is also terrific to have my L'il Bro Bob. It was so good of him to make a nearly 1,000 mile trip over the weekend to visit with us. I don't have the word to express my appreciation.
Thanks to all of you!

Latest update.
I talked to Dave yesterday and Gloria's condition has not worsened at this time, but she is now on Hospice Care, meaning the doctor's have done everything in their power for her. Dave feels that she will last beyond the month the Drs gave her, but we still know it's just a matter of time.
In fact today's big Bro's birthday. I know they won't be celebrating a whole lot, but he does have his kids all around along with a "bunch" of grandkids (last count I think was 17 and another on the way) so I'm sure they will all make the day as joyfull as possible!
I applaud him for doing the hospice. That was some of the most important time I had with my father as we helped him through the end of his life. Prayers are still going out!
