We finally had a beautiful clear day today with temps in the low 70s - now this is more like it! Got a little bit of short riding in around town but was limited by the farkel bug which bit earlier this morning and took a chunk of the day. I mounted the Radar Screamer I used to have in a project box on the MR shelf on my 1100 onto, or should I say into, the 1300 today. Since the 13 has those little speaker grids in the dash I decided to take the Screamer components out of the project box and see if I could mount them behind the dash. Worked like a charm. I now have the piezio horn out of sight but nicely situated right behind the right hand speaker grid. Stuck it the the inside of the dash with some HD Scotch Lock, similarly, I mounted the little brain box to the back side of the bracket that holds the right mirror. I drew the power, for the screamer and the 8550 from one of the connectors provided by the quartet harness previously installed. This particular connector supplies power with the ignition key in the "on" or "acc" position. The Hi-low-off switch is mounted in the faring pocket panel between the right pocket door and the gas tank. For now the RD power cable and the cable that connects the Sceamer to the 8500's ear phone jack are curled up inside the dash awating a new dash shelf. Once I get the shelf, I'll use another "always on" connection from the quartet harness to power up my GPS.
I've got to say that in some ways the ST1300 is a bit more farkle friendly than the 1100. The plurality and variety of fused powered connections provided by the quartet accessory harness is particulary handy.
