I have read most everything I could find on installing the STebel horn.My question is that most of these threads deal with the ST1300.So is the location described for installing the horn on the 1300 the same place I would install it on the 1100?Also read its best to use a 20 amp fuse over a 15 amp one any validation of that?

Ben. Pics of my non-ABS model ST1100 install here:

[I'll try to get all my Stebel pics up on Webshots after TexSTOC and will poST the link...]
The Stebel instructions call for a 20amp fuse. Use 12 or 10 AWG wire right off the battery + post, a HD in-line fuse, and the stock horn wires to trip the Stebel's relay.

I Thankyou John!I saw your post on ST-Riders and I will be looking very closely at your pix.The wiring harness from Eastern Beaver comes with 14 AWG wire so I hope that is adequate. So I should also use the stock horn's positive connection to connect to the relay?I guess when I get the wiring diagrahm it will make more sense. My main concern is not so much the wiring but what pieces of the tupperware I need to remove and where to locate the horn. Also just how to attach the horn to the structure of the bike.I am not great at fabricating metal brackets...

Ben. This is my third try to post this reply. I got smart after the first try and copied what I wrote to a notepad file so I didn't waste all that time and effort retyping a third time... Arrrrrgh. And I have cable modem @~10mps. Let's finish this whole discussion/thread back on ST-Riders where we started... where most of the info you need has been/is being poSTed anyway... please.

Can't really help you without knowing what the Beaver harness looks like, but I'd say 12 or 10 gage wire is a better choice, JMHO. Of course you want to use the stock horn button to trigger the relay and have your Stebel sound off. Having the Stebel's relay mounted right next to the OEM horn's location allows you to hook up the OEM connectors directly to the relay without having to modify (cut and insert extending lengths of wire) the OEM wire leads. [Light green OEM wire lead goes to the relay's switched source spade, the darker green lead goes to the ground spade on the relay.] In my case, having left the OEM horn installed, if the Stebel fails for some reason (I've heard the Stebel supplied relay is problematic), I can just rehookup the OEM horn until I can pull my spare relay out of my aux tools/parts kit and install it. I installed the Stebel relay so it can be accessed without having to pull any tupperware. Also, with the OEM horn left on the bike, I also have the option of installing a switch later so that I can select which horn I want to use (OEM or Stebel) depending on driving conditions.
HTH
