If you have done the conversion, I have a couple questions if you don't mind:
1. Have you had any problems, do you have to lube the tracks that run the windshield up and down?
2. Any binding of the windshield?
3. How was the quality of the kit that you used? Were the crimp connections done well or did you solder the connections to make sure they were good?
4. If I already have the quartet harness installed, do I need to remove the left middle cowl still to install the conversion kit?
5. Anyone decide after they installed it that it was not worth the money because you didn't end up using it that much? I am pretty used to my stationary windshield.
Thanks for your input.

Got it in over two weekends. The time estimates are wildly optimistic if you've never taken the tupperware off before. Seems to work well and quietly. I haven't tried it on the road yet, can't wait!
1. The tracks seem adequately greased. Use more grease and it may drip inside your fairing when it heats up.
2. None at all, but I may Armor-All the rubber around the moving brackets.
3. I had to replace nearly all the crimp connections after one fell off. I then tugged hard on the rest and any that came loose were replaced.
4. It's pretty tight in there. The little bit of time it takes to remove the extra plastic is worth it.

1) not sure if they recommend greasing the tracks or not...I suppose a little every now and then couldn't hurt.
2)No binding at all....works very good! I'm actually impressed with the engineering of it.
3)All the connectors came in a bag and I had to crimp them on. Get a descent crimp tool and you'll be fine. I didn't solder mine on and am quite comfortable that all will be fine.
4)You will need to remove the front cowl(headlight housing) and in order to remove that you'll need to remove or at least loosen the left cowl. I would recommend removing it if your going through the trouble to loosen it.
5)I only installed it about 2 weeks ago and have not even had a chance to ride it yet. I can see that it goes WAY up higher than the stationary position and it goes WAY lower than the stationary position. I think it's going to be my best money I have spent on the ST to date.

A little off the path of answering your question because mine came with the bike. Well when I first heard of a motorcycle with power wind screen I thought it was a usless idea. Was I wrong.
Great to be able to leave it low for around town to half up below eye level for hiway to full up in the rain.

Well, called Cali Sport Touring and ordered the windshield conversion kit. Anyone have any tricks to make it easier to install.
It looks straight forward, however I have heard that some of the crimp connections need to be soldered.
