Unbelievable!:hat1:
I'm organizing my 1st event! So here we go: Looks like another RTE is on for those of us in Michigan! Of coarse you don't have to be from Michigan to partake of the great food and company so mosie on in and hang out for a while!
When: October 21st, 2007 (A Sunday!)
Time: 2:00 P.M.
Place: Big-T Resaurant! :clap2: Check it OUT!
http://www.bigtrestaurant.com/
Where: Lawton Michigan!
http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&q=big+t&near=Lawton,+MI&fb=1&cid=42168425,-85849798,11290128924797464382&li=lmd&z=14&t=m
I set the time for 2:00 P.M. due to the time of year and how the temps dip pretty low overnight. Some riders (my wife as one) may not have the wind protection those of us on ST's have and if it's too cold earlier in the day, they may be less inclined to join us. If that time is not good for others, just chime in and the majority will rule!
If think you can make it, just place a post here and I'll try to keep a tally of who is coming to this RTE! There are plenty of places where an ST can get wonderfully, blissfully lost in the area, several wineries and other attraction. Just Google Paw Paw Mi and Lawton Mi and you can find a lot of things to do if riding is not all you want to do!!
Thanks In advance for participating in this RTE!
ATTENDING!
1) Unbeliever, Tom
2) Unbeliever's better half, Cindy
3) Lost Dutchman

As a side note, I won't be organizing any routes this time around but will be able to make suggestions when we meet. Also, weather may put a damper on some in both lists (my wife for one... ) but I think it will be a great day for a ride!!! I for one will cage it if the weather is too bad for riding! Therefore, I'll be there one way or another unless an emergency arises!

Tom,
Sounds like a great idea.
Count me in, and this time I'll even be on time :)
A nice ride up M60 to M40, some lunch and the a ride up to Allegan to the lake and down along the lakeshore, and then supper at Redamacks!! A double RTE!!
Seriously :( I probably won't stop at New Buffalo, just head East back to South Bend.
If you want to ride up together let me know!
Really looking forward to the day.

Not to far off your beaten path!!! There is a truck stop...umm...Hmmm...now what was the name??? Oh yeah! Yoders truck stop at U.S. 12 and 31 North where we could meet. I'll warn you thou, we aren't real fast twitsy carving riders so if a faster pace is your style... Anyway, we can finalize the details as the date gets closer. Let me know and thanks for joining us!! I'm looking forward to meeting you at last!:hat1:

I'd really like to organize a SToc event here in south west Michigan but I just don't know, with 2 kids active in school and other extra curricular activities, when or how. I'll just have to bide my time and see what happens! Maybe if this RTE goes well, it will encourage my wife to say "Do it!"?:shrug2:
By the way, OH-SToc was awesome and an inspiration!! Thanks again for organizing that excellent event!!:bow1:

Oh man Steve, you just had to bring up SWEETEST day!!! I got her a card, but until you mentioned it I had forgot. I came back to Ohio in October of 95 and saw all these signs that said "sweetest day" every where. I asked what is "sweetest day"? Oh my, you don't know what sweetest day is? Nooooo. I do now, we never had that in VA or TX, so it was new one on me.

I may not be on an ST, but I can make the drive to go for a ride. Days are running short now, but come spring, let me know. Hudsonville isn't that far.
Or are you excluding me because the Big Reds whomped Hudsonville a couple weeks ago? ;)

OK, Here's our plan... Ahnna want's to ride out Saturday, dine out somewhere for Sweetest Day, stay in a motel somewhere, and return after the RTE @ Big T's. Since it's "her weekend, it will all hinge on the weather... but I'm looking forward to this! Officially move me to the "I'm in" list.

For Sweetest day, I'm going to Van Halen! Well actually, Sweetest Day Eve. But I'm taking my girl along, so that's gotta count. She may come to the RTE depending on how much she has to do. Would have to talk her into riding the hour and a half on the Nighthawk, which also might be tough. Or see if Dad will let me borrow his Wing. All kinds of possibilities! Can't wait, this should be fun.

The "BIG-T" RTE is almost upon us and I'll so excited!:a13: Just wanted you all to know that, unless an emergency arises, I'll be at the RTE no matter what! I'll even cage it if I have too! There are plenty of indoor places to visit if the weather is too bad for riding! Don't know if my wife will make it thou. She's been under the weather and therefore behind in her paper work for school. She may have to stay home and grade papers!:( We'll just have to wait and see!
Would anyone else like to join us? Anyone out of the U.P. or Indy area? Illinois, Ohio??? ACL, how about you and Putt???:shrug2: Just checking!

I'm trying to get a few guys from work to tag along. Not sure if they will or not. They had their own ride planned, but they're going to see what they can do to change it. It would probably be a last minute thing for them, and they are coming from GR. We'll see.
But anybody I know upfront that can make it, I'll be sure to let you know.

Well it definitely was a mistake to go. I shouldn't have done it. Now I've got the bug to get an ST more than ever. I'm sure LeAnne (there's your name Tom) got sick of me talking about it on the way home.
Actually it was fun. Wish we had time for a ride afterwards, but maybe we'll do it again earlier in the year. And maybe next time, I'll show up on an appropriate bike.
Thanks again Tom, it was a perfect day for a ride and it gave us a place to go. Would happily do it again. It was nice to meet everyone, but I'll have trouble with names if we meet up again. Sorry.
