I'm planning on going to this & thought it might be a great opportunity to get together with some of my fellow STers. It's near Sheboygan, not far from Milwaukee, and about a 5 hour ride for me. I was thinking about leaving on Friday, attending the races on Saturday, and riding home on Sunday morning. Is anyone interested? Some of you probably live near there. You can read more about it at www.roadamerica.com./2005/

I plan on going but don't know which day yet, I have a friend that works in Illinois and he's not sure if he can get off or which day he will be able to go if they let him off. Where are you planning to stay Friday and Saturday night, moteling or camping?

Danny,
I plan to stay in motel. I haven't lined one up yet or even ordered my race ticket. As people respond we can coordinate where we'll meet up and where we'll stay. :excited:

You can buy the daily race ticket at the gate, if your only going for one day,. there is no need to buy a super ticket for the weekend. there aren't many motels close, and those that are are generally booked a year in advance, I haven't had much luck in getting a room for a Saturday night, I live 5 hours north of the track and find that Green Bay or Kaukana is about the only rooms for me, Oskosh may have rooms coming from your direction. I have had to stay in Manitowoc also to get a room.

I just ride over for a day, usually Saturday. I only live 45 minuites away though. It makes for a nice day. I usually leave very early in the morning, have my thermos of coffee with me and enjoy the early practice. Hit the vendor tents before the races, then ride home early evening. Hope to see you there.

It's getting closer to race time. I've reserved a room at the Days Inn in Fond du Lac. I'm riding there on Friday and returning on Monday. I've mapped out an interesting cross country course for myself thru Illinois & Wisconsin. No interstates for me. Only two lanes. More twisty is better.
It's a doubleheader. Races on Saturday & Sunday. I've never seen a superbike race and am very excited.
Please let me know if you're planning to go. If getting a room is a problem, I have another room in Appleton at the Best Western. I will cancel it in the next couple weeks if I can't turn it.

nyener, normally on superbike weekend the luthern church in Elkhart lake has a breakfast. It was $5.00 for a all you can eat, its just past the intersection in town north on hiway 67 on the right side. oj, coffee, bacon, scrambled eggs, and they ask what you want pancakes or I think french toast , then they make it for you, worth the 5 bucks. I plan on going, but still waiting for an answer from my buddy, probably hasn't got to the campground that they work for the summer. Race weekend is the same weekend as the crusin klassic car show and parade in Escanaba, I will probably go to the parade on friday night and then head on down to the races on Saturday am or Sunday. On friday take the time to walk the whole track its very nice 4 miles 14 turns, the hill overlooking turn 5 above the Billy Mitchell bridge is a nice place to watch the race, you can see turn 14 from there also. HRC has been there at the last few races that I was to so you can park there and check in gear also, if you are a member. If you like bikes you will see an array of them there, also lots of squids showing off.
