Just noticed it now ... way down low, where the 'gray' fairing meets with the colored part, left side in front of my foot: small green streak, covering one of the bolts .... any idea where it's coming from ? ... will unbolt this w/e.

The ST1100 is known to have the coolant lines leak at the connection under the carbs. Yes, you'll have to pull the carbs IF that is where the leak is coming from. IF you have to pull the carbs, it is highly recommended to go ahead and replace all coolant hoses and the 2 o-rings on the fittings that are under the carbs. The hoses are known to get old/hard and leak. Also, they are known to have loose clamps that only need tightened. Check the 2 main hoses at the thermostat housing under the right dask panel. These clamps are known to get loose and leak as well - I guess it is possible to have a leak here and the fluid travel down the hose and come out where you are seeing the leak. I just tightened these clamps on mine the other day. You CAN get to them by going through an access hole in the plastic panel infront of the radiator cap but you'll have to use a flex-socket-adaptor.

Thank you so much for the links, but I think found it ... LEAK AT THE BOTTOM END OF THE RAD ... tightened it up good (about 1 turn) and hopefully that will do it. If it leaks again it's going to the dealer. :D
