Has anyone tried the California Scientific Windshield ? If so, what size did you buy - Lg - Med - Sm. I am thinking about a different windshield for warmer weather in Texas. I currently have a +6W,+2T Cee Bailey for cold weather. Cee Bailey has visual distrotion I don't care for. My windshield has a bad spot in the center top area that bothers me so I don't like the quality of workmanship from Cee Bailey. The Med size California Scientific Windshield looks like it might be the way for me to go. If you have tried a California Scientific Windshield let me know what you think. http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/ST1300prod.html

Guess I will have to buy one and find out if they are what I am looking for. From the pictures on their web page I think the California Scientific Windshield will not have the edge distortion my Cee Bailey has due to the bends. I will let the group know what I think after I ride test one for a while.

My understanding is that the other windshield is taller and wider than stock. For your location I would just stick with what you got. For me the only reason that I would get another windshield is if I ride with a passenger all the time which I don't. Another reason maybe if you have risers that lift you away from the windshield which could explain backpressure.

You can go with the CalSci shield for warmer weather or you can cut the bottom of your stock shield to reduce backpressure. The CalSci shields have the bottom opened up as well as vent ports. I posted a message about my stock shield cutting efforts (windshields section). I have been thinking about trying a medium since it is a touch bigger than stock.
Mark does not put as radical a curve as the CB shield so distortion is not an issue. He took a tour of the CB shop and understands the sources of the CB quality issues. Mark thought my CB shield was better than most he had seen. He took a template of my +6W,+2H CB. At the time he was just starting to setup to make windshields. He tried to show me his new toy, the laser cutter, and turned the switch and BAM , the power supply blew up.
