Hey there,
Well I've been quiet for a while so I thought I would post some of the stuff I've been working on. I'll probably write up some of this stuff later on but I'm too busy getting the bike ready. I'll find some rainy days to write it all up.
The first picture is what I did to the LED reflectors before I put them on the bike. I used some nice molded connectors I happen to have around (sometimes you get lucky) and I used them so I could remove the reflectors from the bike easily as the mating connectors are run down the brakelines and they connect just above the fender. We'll see how well it works when the weather breaks.
The second picture is the Centech fuseblock and it's pretty loaded. It will velcro to the outside of the left fairing pocket. It is nice and protected there and since I had so much stuff to hook up in the front I decided to mount it up there. I didn't want it in the pocket because I would have to drill a big hole in it and then it's hard to get to the fuses. Maybe I'll change my mind later though. To get to it I'll have to remove the inner cowl but that really isn't that tough but it is harder then in the pocket.
The third picture is just a picture of the comm unit I bought. It's the IMC MIT-100. I've done a test run with it and it operates really well. So far for $200 I think it's worth it. I'll have GPS, CB, MP3, Cellphone, and Radio at some point hooked to it.
The forth is my version of a BlueSea fuseblock except that it costs a little less and it has a relay in it. It costs me about $25 to make between the parts and the little extra I had to buy. and I'm pretty happy with it. It has a Buss fuseblock, a radioshack 30A relay, and a couple added machine screws for a couple ground points since the fuseblock doesn't have a ground point. It's kind of cool and I ran a couple wires to the rear running light wires to get switched power. So far I like it. The box is a fly fishing tackle box from Gander Mountain. It's the second one I've used. The other houses my Mix-It up on the dash shelf.
The next picture is just a shot of the LED reflectors. I'm pretty happy with those too. Look nice and mount up easy although routing the wires in the front were a PITA. I must have looked at that thing for a week before I decided what I wanted to do.
The last picture is just a shot of the dash and what I've been trying to get mounted up there. I think that I'm going to get a small 3" neon light from the auto parts store that is used for lighting accents and use it as a maplight and mount it up underneath my dash shelf. I'm hoping it will work. Just one more thing to wire to the Centech fuseblock. Man I'm I getting my mileage out of that thing and I have even wired the MP3 player, radio, or CB power to it. It's already looking like junk and it's going to get worse.
Ok later guys. Gotta walk the dog. Say HI to Java.
