If you have one of the ST1100 Hondaline boxes that everyone says is NG, I'll buy it. Any color is ok, though I am going to paint it black, if I can find one. Scratched up is ok. Cruiserbackrest shows it, but doesn't have it.

Thanks

BBOB - Be sure to get the tall one not the short one - there are two varieties out there. Good Luck!

Huh?

I didn't know that!

Actually, all I need is a short one, (I think) as I want to put my Yeasu FT817 in there and mount an antenna on it.

But a tall one would be good also!

Thanks for the tip.

Still looking. Now is your chance to unload that much criticized and too-small Honda topbox at an inflated price.

Are these things really that rare? I've see none on ebay, but loads of side cases. The undesirably short, too-small ST11 top box appeals to me, even though I have never even seen one.

You will probably find that most people go with a GIVI topbox. I don't believe the Hondaline ones were (are) generally available from the US dealers and have to be imported from Europe.
Good Luck.

The Hondaline ST1100 boxes were only sold in the US in the early 90's. I had one for a while. Construction is ok, but pretty small. I had the short one.

Uncle Phil

Thanks, I already found one and it went on this week. Now I am making an aluminum bottom plate for the radio mount. I noticed that the release mechanism is a bit fussy so I have added a spring to the lock bar and I will add an extension to the bottom plate for a rear antenna. The one I got did have an extra antenna mount but not that would fit my 2M/440 ant. Fun project and should work out good.

Maybe if I wait a week, yet another will show up on ebay - Murphy's law or something.
