View Full Version : Heated jacket liner and gloves
The newest player in the heated clothing line is Powerlet. This is the same company that brings you the wired power outlets for your bike. They offer a great heated jacket liner and gloves. Their products have all the standard features of the Gerbing, Warm & Safe, Widder and others plus a few features others don't have. The best thing about their products is their heat controllers have a Lifetime Warranty while the next best warranty is 3 years. If your really interested in purchasing heated clothing or gloves you really should look at the Powerlet line of products. Do they have heated pants or at least a plug to connect them?
Do they have heated pants or at least a plug to connect them?
They are planning on coming out with pants this spring, but I don't have any set dates. I believe they do have a cable for the pants, but I'd really need to talk to them to verify this. I'll post back here tomorrow after calling them.

Actually, the Powerlet products appear to be rebranded warm-n-safe. The features are all the same, and the controllers are clearly duplicates. I have the warm-n-safe vest, and it's an excellent product. The lifetime warranty of the Powerlet is certainly a selling point, although Mike Coan (warm-n-safe's owner) did replace a dual controller for me at no cost, even though it was a full year out of warranty.
Also interesting, First Gear is now selling heated gear that also appears as if it might be the same as warm-n-safe. In fact, they're calling it First Gear Warm and Safe.

Do the gloves come with cables and if so, what are they?
Also, how does the sizing run on the gloves? (I wear a 9.5)

I called Powerlet and confirmed the jacket liners do have a cable that will allow you to hookup competitors heated pants to the jacket liner.

When having my Warm and Safe liner repaired in August, the tech said they were working on an "expansion." No details at that time. Maybe this was it?

Hi Dmac... If you were to consider a "group buy" or "ST-Owners special package deal"... which would include the complete set up of Jacket liner, gloves, dual controller, and controller pouch.... theoretically, what could that total package deal be discounted down to????

If you going to use the gloves without a jacket then you would need to purchase a cable to run to the gloves. It is cable "PAC-040" Y Glove Harness. Of course you may need a temperature controller if you do not have one already.
Here is a chart to help you with choosing the proper glove size.

Steve - Here is what I can offer the ST Forum members on a group buy. The purchase would be for a heated jacket liner (any size), heated gloves (any size), dual temperature controller with two cords to run either directly to the battery or to a Powerlet socket and a controller pouch. This package retails for $490.85, I will offer it as a group buy for $379.95 which will include ground shipping to each customer in the continential US. Canadian customers would need to add $10.00. I would need a minimum of 10 orders to start shipping. Let me know if your interested!

I am interested, but I have two questions.
First, the gloves. Gerbring has the G3 gloves which seem to be a little lighter and maybe less restrictive. If I get them for my wife, one complaint is that other "warm" gloves tend to restrict movement and therfore are not comfortable.
Second, the dual controller, I suspect that it allows you to control the jacket liner on one controller and the gloves on the other.

Sounds great. I added those items to "cart" from the selections available on your clothing page and with your current sale come up to $442.80 plus about 12 bucks shipping.... ($455.00) so your $380.00 would save me $75...... assuming your initial prices are not above competitive pricing....wow... I'm in! Thank You.

First, I'm not sure how I can answer your question about being restrictive since this is a personal call. I can tell you the Powerlet gloves are pre-arched meaning that are slightly curved to fit the way your hand's normal position. This should make them fell real nature on your hands.
Second, You are correct, one to control your gloves and one to control your jacket.

I appreicate the prompt reply and your response on the gloves is OK. It's a matter of preference and preception. The gear will be for the passenger (unless I deceide to go ahead and get two sets) so the hand position for her is not a big deal.
Thanks again.
We have posted this thread in the Group Buy section

Hi Guys,
I am coming out with a brand new web site latter tonight it should be going live. www.motorcyclelarry.com It has a nicer look and some new items also. I am putting in stock most of the Powerlet line and thinking about selling there heated gear also. I got a pair of there heated gloves, controller and all the items to hook it up today for a Texas trip I am leaving on this coming Monday. The gloves look and feel 1st class but I am a bit concerned how water proof they are.
When the site goes live tonight all the Powerlet items I added will not be shown. This is because I ordered 2 stock orders and haven't received them yet. As soon as they hit my floor I will open thoes items.
One other thing. We haven't been able to switch the data base yet so if you go to order something you will have to enter all your info one more time, sorry.
Thank You
Larry
