I installed my hondaline topbox. And I also installed the rear spoiler with brake light. Now I just need some help trying to hook the electrical up.
I bought the spoiler harness but I am still not sure how to do it. The instructions say to remove the rear mudguard - did that. Then to remove the light bulb holder - did not do that. Tried but not sure how. I took out 4 screws on the sides of the rear lens assembly and 1 screw in the middle inside. The lens assembly still does not seem to want to come out. Am I missing something???
Thanks!

It's not as simple as we would expect it to be. If you really need to remove the taillight lens assembly you need to remove the whole tail piece. The whole tail piece consists of the lens, backing that the bulbs fasten into and the painted section above the lens.

You might want to fish your new wiring down to the brake light wiring and do your splicing with everything in place if you aren't comfortable removing all this.

As I recall, there are 4 bolts that need to be removed. 2 under the rack and the other two are on each side of the seat latch. Be careful not to lose spacers.

After removing the 4 screws and mudguard you need to just twist out the bulb sockets. (mine were really tight) Unplug the bulbs than you can pull the wire harness up from under the rear seat to make splicing the wires easier.

If I bought the spoiler harness do I need to splice anything?
I thought it would just plug right in.

The harness requires splicing into the stoplamp circuit. They supply pins and plug ends to splice a plug on to the stoplamp wires, than plug in an extension cable that leads to the top box.

Thanks for the help Guys!
I have never wired anything before so I was a little unsure what to do. I ended up splicing into the taillight wiring near the tail lights. I used these Posi-Lock Connectors (http://www.webbikeworld.com/Reviewed-motorcycle-products/posi-lock/) . They worked great, very simple, secure and no mess. Originally I wanted to be able to have tail lights and brake lights but I was only able to wire the spoiler with either one or the other so I went with the brake light. I really didn't like drilling holes in the Topbox but I couldn't see a way around it. Anyways Thanks!

This will help you see how to use a resistor, to also have your taillights work with your spoiler light.

The taillights use the resistor to dim the lights on the taillight circuit.
The stoplight is brighter, as it should be.
