cant seem to get the pictures from the desk top to this message board(sorry they are pretty) anyhow my wife and i left sand cyn. dennys at 8:15 sat morning temp was 63 degrees no other riders showed up everyone farkiling i suppose :D
the ride up was uneventful except that i have to question the accuracy of my speedo when i was passed going 85 by two pickups pulling trailers!!!
the poppies are in bloom along with many other types of unidentified flowers
that were just magnificant. the temp. in lancaster dropped into the high 40's
48 to be exact. so we stopped to take in the scenery and just relax in the quiet cool desert air. after a short pause to take in the flowers we continued on up the 138 until we got to the cut off going into lake hughes. the road in said closed but we went through with no problems except very rough pavement where it had been replaced due to the recent rain, and a lot of sand on the roadway.
breakfast was at the rock inn with one moto guzzi rider and one hardley ableson rider. after breakfast the temp had gone up into the mid 50's around 10:30. from the rock inn to home took aprox one hour in modarate traffic. all in all it was a fun 120 mi ride that took aprox 4 hrs including breakfast. :04biker:
