Hello:
I'm looking to buy heated jacket liners and gloves for me and my wife.
Have been reading on the board and have narrowed it down to three
1. Powerlet
2. Synergy
3. Gerbing
for those of you that have heated stuff what would you recommend? are the plugs interchangeable from one brand to another? thanks for your help

I've had Gerbing for a while. The new Powerlet and new Gerbing has the coax adapters so they are interchangeable to my knowledge. Probably the WarmNSafe is also (another good brand). Don't know about the Synergy. I have been very happy with my Gerbing stuff (I have the jacket liner, gloves, socks, and pants liner) and my wife just ordered her a set of Gerbing gloves. I use the Gerbing Heat controller and just bought a Powerlet Hear Controller for her (since I was ordering some other stuff from Powerlet and just made it on one order). I've also got the Widder stuff which I've used with the Gerbing/Powerlet controller with some adapters. So there's pretty much any sort of adapters you need to get from one brand to the other - they just can get a little pricey - and they seem to play together okay.

I'm happy with my Gerbing liner. A friend has the Powerlet, and they're almost identicle; same connections. I'd recommend going in person to get fitted. Electric jackets should be snug to transfer heat.

"It's that time of year?" Heated gear season runs a lot longer in these parts. Adding heated grips and a Gerbings jacket liner have added many weeks to my riding season. The Gerbings rides along in a stuff sack because you never know when you may want it. Last August four of us left our overnight stop in the New Hampshire mountains at first light. Temp was 40 and that heat felt mighty good. After breakfast I stuffed the liner back in its sack. A couple hours later I switched to mesh. 40 to 85 degrees all before lunch, and comfortable the whole time.
